Yamaha XT 500 with 530 Big Bore kit, Slide Valve Carb, Pipe, Aluminum swing arm

This bike is in really great condition. It has not been restored and has not even been cleaned in these pictures, orry. I have had this bike at my summer home in the garage and it is a bit dusty. The battery was a bit questionable so I replaced it and since I had not ridden it since last summer I went aheadand flushed the gas tank. The bike fired right up and rode great just like always. The upgrades that are on this bike are pretty amazing as they are all original from back when the bike was new. This was a southern California bike it's whole life until I bought it from a collector near LA.
The engine has been upgraded many years ago with a 530cc big bore kit and slide valve carb. It has a Super Trap exhaust with spark arrester. The swing arm is a really cool old White Brothers Racing aluminum part in like newcondition. The forks are aPrefab conversion with air over oil set up - rides great. It still has all the original lights, hrome back rack, ll gauges and lights working. All brakes were replacedjust a couple hundred miles ago. Recent service includes carb rebuild, alve adjustment,plug, hrottle and brake cables.
This bike would be great to just enjoy riding around as I have or use it in vintage competition. It really is a very cool piece of motorcycle history. If you have never ridden an old TT or XT 500 they are pretty insane - big thumper - super wheelie bikes. I raced TTs when they were new and had a bike just likethis as a pit bike to go back and forth to town when we would be camping for riding events. These bikes for may of us bring back a lot of great memories and they really are amazing to ride.
