Barn Find and Survivor 1979 Yamaha XS1100 Standard

Barn Find! 1979 Yamaha XS1100 Standard. This bike has been sitting in a barn since 2008 before it came into my shop. These bikes were labeled as 1100s not only for the displacement but they were capable of an 11.0 second Quarter Mile! These were the forerunner of the SUPERBIKES! Cycle Magazine had this to say of the Eleven: "...the XS is a Rolls Royce with a blown Chrysler Hemi motor..." Maybe because these bikes has the Hemi Head design!!!! You can actually say that you "RIDE" a Hemi! The bike has a Kerker header and comfort grips. These bikes are great to be made into Cafe Racers. The carburetors have been cleaned and has not had any gas to them. The gas in the tank will need to be drained as I am not capable to work on bikes any more do to my health. The bike does not show any signs of road rash to indicate that it was ever laid down. This bike is ready to be serviced, olished and ridden.
