Description
1969 Yamaha DT1 250B. This is Yamaha’s second year of the famous DT1 series. I never cared for the original gold on the ’69, o the bike was painted with the 1970 brilliant red color scheme. Otherwise, he bike is all original ’69 with matching numbers. It’s a beautiful bike and is fresh and tuned for immediate riding. I love these bikes and built this from the inside out. I built it for myself and have enjoyed riding it very much but I’m ready to take on a new project.
Before going into all the detail, et’s take her for a ride!! I hope you like to chat with people because this bike draws a crowd every time! https://vimeo.com/147370402 https://vimeo.com/147370401 https://vimeo.com/147370403 It has some neat features that potential buyers should be aware of. Only the ’68 and ’69 bikes came with a close ratio transmission, he silver painted engine covers and the two-bolt ignition cover. The “keystone” tail light and “badge tank” define the look of these early bikes. What was done when restoring this bike: New rings and engine gaskets (first oversize, 0.25mm) Replaced a couple of internal transmission bearings and NOS gears for 1st, hich showed some wear Cleaned and inspected everything inside engine Engine covers, orks and fenders painted and cleared with 2-part automotive paint Powder coated frame and all black parts (31 parts) Forks disassembled, leaned, ork seals replaced and new fluid Cleaned and greased the steering head bearings New Yamaha brake shoes front and rear New tires and tubes All hardware zinc plated Countless little rubber parts and fasteners from Yamaha All new cables (tach, peedo, ront brake, lutch and throttle) New chain and sprockets New seat foam, eat cover, ank badges Speedometer disassembled, leaned, ubed and miles zeroed. True miles unknown. There was no speedo when I bought the bike. I’ve put 1,439 very fun miles on it, ompletely trouble free. Lighting converted to 12 volts. Has a 12 volt regulator and runs a nice bright light. The 12 volt headlight has proven to be much more reliable than the original 6 volt. I have never had to replace a bulb, ut if you do, he 12 volt bulbs are cheap. 6 volt bulbs are becoming difficult to find. The rest of the bike is the original 6 volt DC, ith a new battery and new rectifier for charging. Carburetor is jetted perfectly (for my altitude). This bike runs on premix and the oil tank is not used. Note the flaw in the paint on the front right of the gas tank. Not very noticeable, ut I want to point it out. Rides great, hifts great, as fresh premix in it (synthetic, 2:1). Current CA license plate, t’s insured and I ride it. Needs nothing. Ride and enjoy! I don’t mind shipping this bike, ut I cannot crate it and you will have to make all arrangements. $500 non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours after the auction ends. Contact me to make arrangements for paying the balance and picking up the bike. Thanks for your interest! Also published at eBay.com
