This auction is for a beautifully restored 1977 YZ125D

This bike has been meticulously restored from the frame up. Painstaking detail spent making sure everything matched up to original factory spec. This bike is especially rare because the frame and engine numbers match. This is rare because the factory didn?€™t normally match up engine and frame numbers. Most bikes from this era did not come off the factory floor with matching numbers like this one did. The frame number is 001848.

On a scale of 1 to 10. I?€™d give it a 9. It has a few very minor blemishes which keep it from getting a perfect 10. but it isn?€™t far from perfect. All parts were removed from the bike and bead blasted or cleaned in a sonic cleaner or replaced with new OEM. The paint job is extremely detailed. I spent many hours sanding the paint to get that perfectly smooth finish.

For those of you that recognize this listing. You are not mistaken. This is the second time I've listed this bike. The first time I listed it. the buyer flaked. lame. So we're back to the drawing board. Take this as a sign that says. it was meant to be yours after all ;-)

This bike was sold to me from a friend that had it stored in his barn for 29 years. The fact that it sat in the barn for so long was a blessing as many of the parts were in perfect condition. Anything that wasn?€™t perfect has been replaced with new OEM. It has an OEM seat cover and the original foam. I kept the original foam because it wasn?€™t as stiff as the aftermarket foam. It just feels better.

This bike is ready to race. It starts right up and runs like a champ. It has a fresh bore and a new clutch. The bore has not been broken in yet so if you intend on riding this beauty I would highly recommend following a proper break in procedure. This bike has oil in it and doesn?€™t drip a single drop.

The wheels. forks and levers have all been polished and look just great. The decals on the tank are notorious for bubbling as you can see in the photo?€™s. That said this auction includes a brand new set of tank decals as seen in the photo's. These new decals can be used if you intended on doing a photoshoot or something.

Many OEM parts were used in the restoration. So much so that the parts alone on this bike could be sold individually for what my starting price is. For instance the front sprocket cover is OEM. These covers are nearly impossible to find.

Here is a link to a gallery of photos I took of the bike: http://postimage. org/gallery/7h0qu1is/

Once in the photo gallery you can click each photo to see a higher resolution version of the photo. If you click the higher resolution photo it will bring you to the really high resolution version. These ultra resolution photos are so crisp that you can see all the detail in its full splendor.
