1973 Yamaha RD350 ready for restoration, low miles, carbs cleaned and runs

Classic Yamaha RD350 ready for restoration. Frame #351-11593, ngine #351-115939. Pretty nice survivor condition with the potential to turn into a very good looking motorcycle once restored. This could be your affordable ticket into the world of Yamaha RD350 restoration, ut realistically, s with any restoration expect to do a lot of work (and spend some more money) to get it where it needs to be. Reasonable opening bid ($999.00) with reserve well under $2000.

Some issues I noted during my limited, on-professional inspection of the bike. You should be able to see all of this in the photos:

Has some spots of surface rust on frame, he worst of which is on the swingarm. Tip of rear fender is a little mashed up, ut a very nice used fender will be mounted and included with sale. Some minor rust spots on rims but not pitted and should clean up well with polish and fine steel wool. Spokes are a little dull and may or may not clean up with polishing. Some battery acid staining on mufflers, ut they are in nice shape otherwise.

Positives as I see them:

Original paint on bodywork is very nice. Fuel tank has a few minor scratches and a couple of very small dings hard to capture in photographs. Fuel tank interior was cleaned with Rusteco treatment, lushed and is clean and shiny. The carbs have been cleaned and the bike runs. It has not, owever, een tuned up or gone through otherwise. The seat is in very good condition with no visible tears.I do not see any oil leaks of any kind. Underside of bike looks clean. Miles are pretty low at 13,218. This is a first year RD350 with what I consider the best looking paint scheme.
