For Your Consideration is this Exceptional Condition, how Winning, Professionally "Race Restored," 2 Owner TD1-C, he Final Iteration of the 1st Series OTC Yamaha Production Racer, randfather of the TZ 2-Stroke Singles, wins, nd TZ750-4. This full-history bike was purchased new and successfully raced by #53 John Buckner as well as Yamaha Factory Rider Tony Murphy (#66 in last picture racing the TD1) in 1967 and 1968 before the bike was retired to storage for the next 42 years.
This Investment/Show Quality TD1 has been completely redone over the last 5 years. The motor has all the TD1C-specific internals, uns and shifts great, nd the matching-numbers cases are free of any damage or welds. The fresh crankshaft and top end have been run in and are race ready; approximately 100 track miles since full rebuild, nd only 3 start-ups on brand new rings (see video):
The forks are rebuilt, ith all bearings, ushings, nd shafts being serviced. The gray frame and white bodywork with gold Yamaha lettering (seat cowl and right half of the tank) have been repainted. To attest to the provenance, he left side of the tank still has John's 49 year old paint job and hand lettering from 1967, omplete with scratches and genuine race-patina.
One side looks like a nicely restored stock TD1C; turn it around and it's a period classic with great history!
The Fairing and Front Fender are Replicas. The Shocks and top fairing mount are not original; minor changes, epairs and improvements may vary from stock as this is an 'as-raced' restoration of a successfully campaigned motorcycle.
