1986 Yamaha YZ 490

1986 Yamaha YZ 490. Low time and close to original.I purchased it from the original owner. He had the original MSO in his name. The bike has the original tires on it, hai, prockets etc.... It was stock when I purchased it. The seat cover had the seam at the rear coming apart. I replaced the seat cover. I removed the cylinder head and had the head mod done per yamahaand installed the fmf pipe. The fuel tank was the only thing faded. I could not go without putting a NOS fuel tank on it to make it look excellent. The bike starts, uns and rides like new. The rear shock bump stop was deteriorated and needed replaced. I removed the rear shock and sent to sage racing suspension. They replaced the seal head, erviced the shock and replaced the bump stop. They also said the BASS system on the rear shock (the cable that actuates the brake activated suspension system(BASS) should be removed). This is the cable you see in the picture with the pipe and tank. They said it was more of ajoke than a functional system. It also has a new air filter. If you look in the pictures he drilled 3 holes in the side of the breather box for more air. This was the hot setup by dirtbike magazine in 1986. The only non stock items, he NOS fuel tank, mf pipe, eat cover, ank stickers and air filter, nswer bars, ndoury grips.I have the MSO and the original parts. It has the original triangle stand. The bike is too much for my right knee to start and my wrist is too heavy to ride it. No touch up paint or plastic renew has been added to enhance the pictures.
