This is probably the best original 1975 Yamaha RD250B that I have seen in a long time. This motorcycle is not a restored bike. It has only been cleaned and maintained. We have attempted to keep it original. It was originally sold in Carson City on 8/21/76. Original Sales receipt shown in photo is included. The original owner is still in the area. He sold it in in the fall of 1976 to the owner previous to me. During that time, he bike was ridden and accumulated 4,514 miles. The tags on the RD250B when I acquired from the estate had and expiration date of 10-81. It was put into storage back in 81 until I pulled it out of the climate controlled locker on 8/24/2013. I have pictures in the as found state for the next owner if requested. All numbers matching and have clear title.
What I found, esides all the dust, ere the gas tank and carburetors that had been completely drained of fuel. Nevada is a very dry state and being in the locker, t didn’t see the light of day. I opened up the tank and it still had bare metal with no rust anywhere. The pictures showing the carburetors are still wearing their original paint. The original tires were still on the motorcycle, ut the back was worn pretty well. The original tires will come with the motorcycle. The transmission oil was still very clean. The original battery was still in it, ut had long since rolled over and died. So on 12/19/14, brought it into my shop and proceeded to do a complete tear down. For the next five months, verything was taken apart right down to the crank and gears. See pictures. As we went, e cleaned and replaced a number of things that you would normally do with a motorcycle sitting so long in a dry climate. The right tank orange sticker is missing a small spot on the side and can be seen by the pictures. It could be touched up if you want. Because of the old acid batteries, hey had a vent tube and it vented on the right side of the bike. The center stand, wing arm and kick stand were missing somepaint. These were bead blasted, rimed and repainted. The right pipe chrome has some spots where the acid might have stayed for a short period. The new owner if he wanted can get that re-chromed, ut you would know it if I didn’t tell you. All Chrome is original.The manuals come with the motorcycle. Also, he there is a original tool kit comes with it, ut it is missing some tools. The carburetors were removed. Because they were drained, e only cleaned them with soap and water to preserve the paint. New carb kits where installed. The rest of the RD250B is original paint. Yes, ven the frame. We cleaned it first, hen polished it and then waxed it. I told you this RD250B is probably the best original. This RD250B really scoots. We replaced the following;
New K&N filter
New bronze swing arm bushings
New correct sealed head light. These are very rare.
