Description

Up for auction is my really nice and clean 1974 Yamaha MX360. Please note: No title. This is a great bike. Fires right up, sually 1-2 kicks cold. Very easy kicking bike as well, ue to the factory automatic compression release. This is properly adjusted and makes starting this big bore bike easy. Without it you would probably brake your foot. The Circle F pipe sounds awesome as well. Engine sounds good in my opinion. Sounds pretty much like any other big bore air cooled bike of the era. I removed the head to check the engine condition. I was pleased to find a nearly new looking 1.0MM over wiseco piston, nd a nice looking bore with no damage. Combustion chamber and top of piston are damage free and look like new, ndicating nothing is coming apart in therod or crank bearings. Engine turned over nice and smooth with the head removed. No engine oil leaks anywhere, ot even where the pipe meets the cylinder. I just replaced the reeds with boyesen reeds, nd replaced the stock 34mm mikuni with a 38mm mikuni along with the throttle tube and cablefrom an 86 YZ250, hen jetted it. Carbchange didn't requireany modifications to the intake boots, fit right in.Bike runs awesome with the big carb, ircle f pipe and the reeds. Carries the front wheel in the first 3 gears with ease. Engine pulls down low, as a nice midrange and has a nice hard hitting powerband. I would compare the power and overall powerband to a late 80's early 90's motocross 250 bike. Clutch pull is easy, nd clutch works like new, o slipping or grabbing, eels like it was probably replaced at one point. I just rode the bike over the memorial day weekend for 3 days at our camp up state. Worked great, nd I had a blast on the hairscramble type trails we have there. One negative thing I must mention; a few times while decelerating down a hill and downshifting through the gears the shifter got stuck going into 2nd gear, pshifted into 3rd, nd then it downshifted fine. All upshifts were perfect. Only happended a few times. Shifter is tight on the shaft. Just rode it tonight before taking pictures, nd it didn't do it. I feel like I should mention it, don't want anyone to have any unpleasant surprises.

Front wheel is original with a nearly new michelin tire, ear wheel is from a YZ with a nearly new tire as well. Chain and sprockets just replaced with RK chain and JT sprockets front and rear. Rear shocks are new, nd work really well, lso have an extra inch of clearance. Previous owner suposedly rebuilt the forks, can say they don't leak and work perfect. New renthal grips, NI air filter. Bottom end oil just changed with 2-stroke gearbox oil. Inside of tank is like new. Outside has some dents. Petcock works and doesn't leak. All suspension bushings are nice and tight, heel bearings tight.

Previous owner vintage raced the bike, nd said he did really well with it. Sorry I don't have any other history on the bike.

Original pipe/silencer, eeds, arb/cable/twist, nd original rear shocks all included in the sale
