Description

This is my 1973 Yamaha CT3 175 Enduro. Unfortunately the first picture of the girls on the bike is neither my bike or girls. Just thought it was a neat picture, orry guys.
This bike is all original and in very good condition. It has the original tires, eat and everything else. I purchased this bike to restore but have decided to get a larger cc bike for my off road needs. In 1973 I purchased a brand new CT3 just like this when I was 14 years old and loved it and put 15,000 miles on it before I sold it. I bought this one to "relive" my youth.
Ebay will not let me post a link to my youtube video of the bike running. So to view the youtube video you will need to go to youtube and copy and paste the following search title.

The bike just needs someone to devote some time to restore it, ut I don't have time to do it. So my loss is your gain.
The bike starts on the first or second kick and runs and idles very well. The tank has a couple of slight dents and the inside it pretty clean and good enough to use as it is.
There is not a key to the bike but you can turn the ignition switch with any key.
All that I noticed that the bike is missing are the turn signals and the mirror.
The bike has the original tires that hold air but are dry rotted and need to be replace soon.
Now for the bad news. As I mentioned. the bike starts, dles and revs up fine. When I did the first test ride the clutch would not disengage. The bike runs fine in first gear but when you shift into 2nd, rd, th or 5th and bike will go into gear but pop right back out of gear. If you hold the shifter up with your foot it will stay in gear. No sure if something just needs adjusting or if it is something more involved.
Now for the "stupid news". I made the mistake of riding the bike for the third time without oiling the chain. Before my last ride I noticed a kink in the chain. That is where the stupid part comes into play. While riding the bike down the drive way the chain broke and busted a small piece out of the side cover and bent the clutch push rod, nbsp;Due to the clutch push rod being bent it's rubble seal is bent down and dripping a little oil. The oil is coming from the seal. I have looked real close and the side case does not appear to have any damage so all you will need is a side cover.
You can buy a used left side cover on ebay for $15-$35.
My advice for fellow vintage bike restorers is to purchase a new chain before riding your "new" vintage bike.
The bike is in good of condition and starts on the first kick, o it is too good part out. I hope someone will restore the bike and enjoy riding it. Who knows, aybe you can even pick up a couple of pretty girls with the bike.
I do NOT have title to the bike and will be providing a bill of sale. Ebay does not offer this option so I picked the "clear title" option. The bike is being sold "as is". I will deliver the bike to a local shipper for the buyer but the buyer is responsible for arranging and paying all shipping cost.
Feel free to contact me with any questions, eave your phone number and I will call you back.
Scammer don't waste my time or yours.
Good luck,
