1978 YAMAHA SR500E SR500 SR 500. MINT (REALLY!), ORIGINAL, UNRESTORED!

1978 Yamaha SR500E. Super-clean, nmolested, nrestored original. Low serial number - #650 off the assembly line, nd the engine # matches the frame #. Grips are the only parts not factory. Aside from minor spotting in the clear coat on the tops of the engine cases, nd a few scratches at the back of the muffler and on the right rear turn signal, his bike is pretty much immaculate. Even the fork lowers, hich are generally the first things to show age, ook showroom-new.
Has fresh Motul synthetic oil, lean oil screen (checked it to be safe, ut it was spotless), ewly-rebuilt rear master cylinder and caliper, lushed front brake and master cylinder, resh brake fluid, ew battery, nd new air filter. Just checked valve clearances, nd they didn't require adjustment. Tires are weather-checked, o I don't know how far I'd ride on 'em, ut they're original. Even has the tool kit, nd two keys, ut no owner's manual.
The bike was in a collection in the midwest for many years. I was looking to replicate an SR I had 25 years ago, ith all of the period mods, nd wanted the cleanest starting point I could find. After doing the maintenance and detailing it, decided it was too nice to change up. If the next owner wants to mod it, hat's fine; you don't have to promise to keep it stock!
