This RD has not been broke in yet it has less than 5 miles on it, ou'll have to cruise it for the first 100 miles.

Engine overhaul performed by none other than Chuck Medeiros in Los Gatos.

You can see Chuck on You Tube here:

Chuck's work on the Motor and the Carbs.

Motor;

Motor was pressure tested (passed at 5-PSI for 4 Minutes), isassembled then inspected,

Cylinder sent out for boring 1st over sized, oned and finishing

Replaced the Neutral sensor and gasket,

New clutch rod and seal,

Pressure washed the inside of the left and right cases,

Sandblasted the outside of the left and right cases then painted using Enamel Caliper paint,

Installed new exhaust gaskets

Installed new pistons, ings & pins (Pistons are from Western Power Sports - Yamaha 350 Banchee Moly Coated low friction type - 1st over or .25mm- modified at the lower skirt to fit the RD400 crank stroke),

Installed new wrist pin bearings

Installed new engine gasket set,

New set Allen wrench engine case bolts,

Motor inspected and all tolerances measured before reassembly.

Carbs;

Disassembled and ultrasonically cleaned before rebuilding them,

New Carb kits, ozzles (159 p2), ain jets (115), ilot jets (25), eedles (Y-5), askets and clips,

Float levels set at 23mm (All stock),

Carbs fitted to the fresh motor.

Chuck replaced all the oil injector lines, leaned the oil injector, et the points gap and initial timing.

What I've done;

New YUASA Battery - YUAM22A5B

New Battery retaining rubber,

New tool kit retaining rubber (YES, he OEM tool kit is included),

New Fork Boots,

Cleaned thoroughly then rebuilt the Rear Master Cylinder using new seals, /p> Cleaned thoroughly then rebuilt the Rear Brake Cylinder using new seals,

Cleaned thoroughly then rebuilt the Front Brake Cylinder using new seals,

Thoroughly cleaned the Front Master Cylinder,

Installed new front and rear brake pads,

New Rear tire mounted and balanced (Dunlop), ront tire has good meat on it,

Installed new Chain,

Installed new plugs, oints and condenser (timed the bike once it was completed and running),

All new fuses,

Cleaned out the gas tank of all debris (liner kit was surprisingly not necessary),

Installed new gas tank rubber front and rear,

Cleaned out the Oil injector tank and fitted with new hoses.

New gas lines and new gas filters using Yamaha hose clamps,

Scoured the surfaces of the front and rear rotors,

Wrapped left and right Exhaust Baffles with new baffle material,

Removed the springs from the rear shock and cleaned the chrome up and checked shock dampening, /p> Polished what I could of the chrome, ainted what I could and did a bit of buffing (you'll see in some spots I buffed the tank to metal, here are no dents).

I may have forgotten everything I did but for the most part the list above is complete.

The Oil Injector is working perfectly but I've added a mixture of Octane booster and Blendzall in the gas tank. The Blendzall gets to the top of the cylinder where the made for oil injection OIL does not. The Octane booster is a no brainer.

The Headlight (Hi beam & Lo beam), ail light, ail brake light and Blinkers all work. The bike has 11,159 original miles the motor less than 5.

Here’s a short COLD start video and on the very first kick the bike comes to life:

Why am I selling? I bought this RD to restore and ride. In the short distance I rode the RD reality sunk in, 've put on a bunch of weight since High School.

I have the Pink Slip in hand and it is currently registered Non-Op.

History of this RD400: This bike has had 3 owners I am the 3rd. The 2nd owner used it as a daily rider until the bean oil he used for injector oil clotted and starved the engine of oil where it developed a knock, e garaged it and for the last 3 years it has been registered non-op. The 1st and 2nd owners were close friends when the 2nd owner saw that his friend wasn't riding the bike anymore he offered to buy it. 1st owner lost the pink slip so bill of sale was done, hen 2nd owner registered with DMV he or the DMV official entered 1985 RD400 into the computer. I use AAA Auto to register my vehicles (I hate DMV) since the girls there didn't know how to go about getting the pink slip corrected I just went with it so, 985 RD400 it is no harm no foul.

I just found a few dings on the top of the front fender which I never noticed, orry.

I've tried my best to show the good and the bad and to be totally up front, want the buyer to be happy with his or her purchase. If you have questions please ask, 'll be happy to promptly answer them. Want more pictures of certain areas of the bike just ask. There is no warranty and the bike is being sold As-Is, hat you see and read is what you get. I will provide the winner with all the receipts from my restoration (and receipts from the 2nd owner), he Pink Slip a bill of sale and the key via USPS Priority mail (Unless you're local), nce payment has been made in full and cleared.

I am retired and can assist the shipper with the loading of the RD, am home most of the time so any day during the daylight hours is okay. I'm happy to speak with you or the shipper on the phone anytime during the transfer.
