YAMAHA TDM 850 GENUINE 5100 MILES IMMACULATE TIME WARP BUT NEEDS ENGINE REPAIR

This auction is for my 1998 Yamaha TDM which has covered a genuine 5. 00 miles in the past 15 years and is therefore in time-warp condition. Unfortunately this may not have done it a great deal of good. I bought this because I had plans of getting it going and riding it on long distance tours but reality got in the way and I realise now that as I work away all the time I?ˆ™m never going to ride it more than a few miles. When I got the bike it had only done 5. 00 miles and been done just 500 miles in the previous seven years. The carbs were solid with crud and these were stripped. ultrasonically cleaned. rebuilt and re-balanced. I also bought and fitted a new battery. MoT?ˆ™d and taxed it. When I first rode the bike the coolant became really hot and a minor hose blew. I suspected the thermostat was seized. As my work got in the way (as always) I put it into my local bike shop which replaced the thermostat and also noticed the coolant was pressurising when the engine was running. They recommended I don't ride it very far until the problem is diagnosed and fixed. It's a year since I got the bike and I now realise I will never get to ride it as I will be working abroad for virtually the whole of the next three years so it?ˆ™s time to pass it onto someone who will sort it out and ride it. ?  Apart from the engine problem this TDM is in immaculate if somewhat dusty condition and comes with the original bill of sale. owner?ˆ™s handbook. service book. all previous MoTs which verify the mileage. previous tax discs. V5C in my name. two sets of original keys and alarm zappers and bills for work done. It?ˆ™s also taxed and MoT'd until the end of November and is data-tagged. The engine starts on the button and it rides and handles like a new bike (which it virtually is). These bikes are known to do enormous mileages reliably and once the coolant problem is sorted it will be a very cheap 'new' machine for someone and ready to take on those long tours which I never got to do. To reply to a question I looked at the tyres. The rear is fine. However the front. while legal will need replacing sometime in the next thousand miles or so.
