Yamaha XT 600 ZE Tenere x2 Project Bikes Paris Dakar Overland Trail Desert

Here i have for sale x2 Yamaha XT600 ZE Tenere's both with logbooks and both with matching engine and frame numbers. I bought these bikes with the intention of making a one off Dakar Replica from 1985 (if you google image Rallye Tenere xt600 you'll see some good examples) but a new house buy forces me to sadly sell half way through. As you can see i have made good progress with the bike now on wheels and ready for an engine. this is a completely new rolling chassis. every part is new. So far the project bike has had all fresh powder coating. the frame has had heel plates made and welded on to mirror the Dakar bike. it has rebuilt YZ motocross front forks fitted again as the Dakar bike had. i had to source these forks. had the legs powder coated then rebuilt them with new seals and oil. and newer tops fitted. The swinging arm has been powder coated the correct silver and was then rebuilt with new bearings. seals and tubes. Also had the correct mono cross decals fitted. It has had a Gauloises suede top seat cover professionally fitted. i had the original hubs powder coated and then sent away and rebuilt by Talon on gloss black Excel rims with stainless spokes and nipples as the Dakar bike had. they are on Brand new Michelin T63 road legal desert tyres. along with new michelin tubes and rim tapes. The wheels have all new bearings. Lots of original Yamaha bolts freshly zinced. along with £100 worth of new Yamaha bolts and guards. which includes items like new engine mount bolts and sprocket keeps. All metal parts have been freshly powder coated. including engine mounts. foot pegs. brake pedal. gear lever etc. ?  Both bikes are on sorn. The donor bike as it's been is rough but it does run. the other bike also was a runner until i stripped it. but the intention and what is needed is a strip down of both and one good engine made out of the two. Also has brand new Yamaha cush drive rubbers. and rear sprocket bearing. Included in the sale but not in pictures is the headlight assembly with headlight for the new bike. again all freshly powder coated. wiring loom. front brake caliper and clocks. Not included is the bike lift in the picture. All in all a good winter project for somebody with some mechanical know how. and they will end up with a slightly different eye catching Tenere.
