This nice solid 1975 Yamaha XS650B sportster twin has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life ?ˆ“ the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to machinery than ours. This and the fact it's only showing 16949 miles and has been in dry storage for the last umpteen years have helped maintain its boyish good looks. PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES. As you can see this bike is complete but with a few non standard items:- Paint job. K&Q seat. Slashcut exhausts etc. The bike has obviously stood a while so the battery is flat. BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS. The bike is every bit as solid as it looks here. The wheels are straight with nice clean alloy rims. good hubs. brake plate. disc. caliper & working master cylinder. Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome. Mudguards are both solid. Tail light assy is good as are the headlight & hangers. Instruments & switches look ok. Fuel tank & side panels are solid & tank isquite clean inside. Carburetors are free sliding off the twist grip. The engine is cosmetically clean. it turns over nicely off the kick starter ?ˆ“ sounds/feels great & has compression ?ˆ“ When we hooked it up to a good battery & fed it fresh fuel it starts & runs. The bike is currently unregistered. The registration process is reasonably uncomplicated.

We will provide proof that VAT & Duty are paid on the NOVA system.

REGISTRATION

1. You need to get the bike MOT?ˆ™d.

2. You need to prove the year of manufacture. The American Title will do this.

3. You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on the chassis number.

4. Send all this paper work to the DVLA. who will charge you £55 for the 1st registration & the current fee for the road tax.

5. The DVLA will send you a tax disc with your age related registration number.
