YZF750 /1000 exup yamaha classic superbike trackday race bike thunderbike

This is the very popular Yamaha YZF750R with a 94 M registration. It has been fitted with the fully adjustable suspension from the SP model as developed closely between Ohlins and yamaha.  This bike became a racer very early in its life around 1995 when it only had a few hundred miles on it. The owner decided to fit race fairings and compete at club races with Retford and Pegasus. Later a 1000 exup motor was fitted to add torque and drive off the turns in a chassis which already out manouvred the superbikes around it. By 1998 it was parked in his garage. under a sheet and there it sat waiting for more track use which sadly never came. due to family and business concerns. I bought this bike last year. got it started up and set about refurbishing it but due to change of circumstance I am not really able to ride it. Trackday at Rockingham 02. 08. 14 a complete success!Took the YZF to noise test where it passed no problem.  Out on track for the first session I took it easy to bed in the brakes and tyres. Wow the bike is very strong. easy to ride and powerful enough to hang with the R1 and GSXR guys in the fast group along the main straights. The exup engine is a great addition to this very capable chassis and really gets into its stride in the second half of the rev range. but pulls clean and strong from right down low meaning gear selection through the slick 6-speed is not critical to time between corners. Only small problem I had was one of the exhaust header pipes started blowing. causing a popping on the overrun. This is just a gasket not seated quite right and will be rectified straight out. Bike is good to go have fun. tested and approved !
