Description

1980 Yamaha XS1100SG Special. Completely stock and un-restored original. This is a two owner bike and I have owned it since 1988. The bike runs like brand new. Starts nicely. rides great. It is super clean as you can see in the images attached. Original black metallic paint. Chrome is excellent too. Engine and frame serial numbers match and this bike appears to be the 651st of the 1980 models built. so an early production number bike. This model is 1100cc. shaft drive. in-line 4 cylinder engine. 18. 00 miles currently. Recently inspected and licensed. Comes with a backrest with built-in zipper pouch and luggage rack (not currently installed) Also the original owners manual. Yamaha factory service manual. original tool kit and 2 sets of keys. The tires are in very good shape and both are Dunlops. Clear Texas title in my name.  This bike is a turn-key purchase. so there is not a single thing you would have to do to this bike. Gasoline is all you have to buy for a long time. It is a 34 year old bike that has been ridden. so it is not perfect. but very close.  In the spirit of complete. honest disclosure. the bike was wrecked in 1989. but repairs were done by the Yamaha shop with all receipts available. The only small defects visible are one small cylinder fin broken on right side and one of the generator cover screw mount tabs has been repaired.  In 1980. you may remember. the USA speedometers only had 85 mph. but I have upgraded to the 1979 version which went to 160 mph. I equaled the mileage on the odometers when the swap was done. so the mileage is correct. I will give the original 85 mph speedo with sale too. Other upgrades include tapered steering head bearings; K&N air filter in stock airbox; and engine case guards with footrest pads.  Recently replaced items are front and rear footpeg rubber covers; battery with Battery Tender charger leads; Oil and filter change; rear differential fluid change; transfer case fluid change; intake manifold rubbers; replaced front brake pads and front master cylinder rebuild kit with fresh brake fluidI would not hesitate to take this bike anywhere in the country tomorrow. and it will take you anywhere you want to go for years to come. I didn't think I would ever sell this bike. but a friend of mine has a bike he is selling and I would like to own that bike. but I need to make room in my garage. so the sale of this bike is with personal regrets. and I hope it can go to someone who can continue the meticulous care that it has received so far.  You could fly into Dallas/ Fort Worth airport. I could pick you up and then you could do a motorcycle tour back home. I have full confidence it will make it anywhere.  The buyer will be solely responsible for vehicle pick-up or shipping arrangements.  A deposit of  $500 will be due within 48 hours of auction close via PayPal. and the remainder of the funds due in 7 days.  I need to have the remainder of the funds to be either a bank cashiers check or cash.  If an international buyer purchases  this motorcycle. then other payment arrangements should be worked out with me before bidding is complete.    Ask questions and I will answer back through eBay messaging. If you want to talk further with more questions. send me a message and we can trade phone numbers to have a discussion about the bike.  Thank you very much for looking at this auction.
