Description

Beautiful carbon wrapped R1 big bang with Yoshimura exhaust. This bike looks absolutely amazing and sounds better. you will instantly fall in love with this bike when you see it. Low miles and full service history all from Woking Yamaha. 6k service was done only in May of this year. HPI cleared with report available for viewing.

This is a 2010 model. registered in 2011. The bike sat in a showroom until I picked it up in Dec 2012 as a Christmas present to myself. The bike has had less than 2 years?ˆ™ worth of use and I am its first owner (not including the dealer who registered it). purchased from new. There is a new set of Michelin pilot road 3's on the bike. I have only put 1k miles on them. I chose these tyres as they offer more than enough grip for the road as well as incredible wet grip and can expect 11. 00 miles plus on them. Pilot powers and bridgestone super sport tyres were running down too quickly and after a Ron Haslam race school day (elite level with the fireblade on bridgestone T30's) found that sport touring tyres offer more than enough grip for the road. The sport mode has been used for less than 30 seconds in its life time (that's how long it took my shorts to get brown). The carbon wrap is expertly done and is in excellent condition. you may see in the pictures there is slight wear in the 'crotch' area of the tank - to be expected. The carbon wrap also looks great with the carbon fibre exhausts which sound unbelievable. They are Yoshimura Trc-D exhausts with the double holes on each can. by far the best looking and sounding exhaust for the R1. A lot of research went into the right slip on exhaust as akrapovic seemed to be on literally every R1 I saw and I needed something to match/ out-do the Ducati I had previously.

This bike is really amazing. I'm gutted to be selling it. but the Mrs has commanded it. I knew from the first moment I drove the bike that this was the bike for me and if you have never ridden an R1 before. you will not be disappointed.  I had an R6 before this and a Ducati 848 and neither compared. it inspires absolute confidence on corners and the acceleration makes me smile every time. It always had more power than I could use and the wet mode. standard mode and sports mode are also present on this bike.  I didn't see the need for ABS or traction control that came with the more current models at the time because lets face it. as much as we would like to think we are Valentino Rossi. unless you are on a track and physically able to take the bike to its absolute limits. it isn't worth the extra money for those features.  Side note - this bike has never been on a track only driven on the road.

It is carbon wrapped and in my 8 yrs of riding I am yet to see another in the flesh. I see plenty of the normal black R1 with the usual akrapovic cans. which are everywhere. but have only seen a carbon R1 in google image searches and nowhere else.  Whoever gets this bike. I am going to be so jealous of you. but c'est la vie.  This bike has been really well looked after by myself. it has been my pride and joy and I always wanted to keep it till the end when it finally fell apart many years from now. but unfortunately I won?ˆ™t be able to see that day.  Hopefully you will keep this bike for the rest of your days to keep the dream alive ;)

In the dealership book. a 2010 big bang model with no mods and this many miles is worth approximately £7. 5k on a good day. Dealers are offering me £6. 75k (ie 10% commission) for it but I am selling it here because I don't want to be stung with a commission of that size - I worked too hard to buy this bike in the first place to have someone else get a huge cut ;P. The carbon wrapping isn't cheap to get done and the exhausts cost me the best part of £1. 00 so this could be a real bargain for whoever wants this one of a kind bike that always turns heads. particularly at bike meets and is a real head turner in towns. but I think that might might have something to do with the exhaust. people literally turn around to see what it is - a good safety precaution if you ask me. you will always be heard before you are seen.

I had my farewell ride and a good clean. the bike is in such a good condition at present that I am not riding it to keep it in the best condition possible for the new owner and obviously don't want to jinx the sale with an accident. The mileage is exactly as stated. I have all the keys available (including the red key) as well as the service book with 600 mile and 6. 00 mile service stamps from Woking Yamaha. The original exhausts are also available if there is an interest in purchasing them. but to be discussed when the bike is picked up by the winner. The exhausts have been left on the garage floor and may have some small scratches as an FYI.

One more time to stress this point. a dealer is very keen to take this bike off me. he even remembered it from May when it was serviced and I personally think that speaks volumes that it stood out when you consider how many bikes will have gone through the workshop each day since then.

This bike is currently advertised on autotrader and I reserve the right to pull this auction if it is purchased there but unlikely as its almost certainly going to be cheaper here. I have set the reserve to £6k (the same price a dealer offered to buy the bike off me outright) so now I'm going to pray there is more than one person interested (that can afford the reserve price) ;) and I wish you all happy bidding. Quite excited to see what the market is prepared to pay for this bike because for me the bike is priceless (probably why I am resorting to eBay after over a 150 views on Autotrader).

All the best.

P. s. disclaimer - the license plate will not be included in this bike. it will revert back to it's original 2011 license plate number (RO61 CWC) in the coming weeks. I am in the process of transferring the plate to a car. The bike will not be released with the v5 (in my name) signed over to the new owner until the money is in my bank account. do not contact me to make offers. place a bid instead. No time wasters either. this bike will potentially go for a price of £6k which is a steal for what it is. Viewings during the auction can be arranged. but please note this bike will only be listed for 10 days and then its gone. The keys will not be present during a viewing and I will be accompanied. The bike will be in a locked garage so again. no time wasters coming along or anyone hoping to steal the bike and please note I live spitting distance from a police station. No test drives will be available (for obvious reasons) but I will do my best to show the bike is in excellent condition. I suggest you head to Woking Yamaha for a test drive if you need one. All payments will be handled via direct debit. again a security precaution for me on my end and ID will also be required for the sale. Paypal will not be accepted as a result of the various scams present when selling vehicles. cash on collection will only be possible if we both go to the bank to pay it in. Cheques will also be accepted but the bike will only be given once the funds have cleared. Other than that. it is the standard eBay terms and conditions.  These requests should be no problem for a genuine buyer and I hope are expected of a genuine seller.
