Description

For auction is my Yamaha RD250e. 1979 on a V plate with the all-important matching frame and engine numbers. Including buying the bike I've spent over £3000 to get it this far. It's a complete full nuts and bolts restoration. no expense spared. Standard nuts and bolts have been replaced with stainless. All other studs. screws. spindles etc have been re-galvanized. The guy who finishes this bike in the same way its started will have a bike that not only looks like new but will last for years to come and can only increase in value. The reason why I'm selling it is because I've not touched it in over 18 months and the dawning reality that it'll be at least another 3 years before I'll ever get to work on it. (The down side to setting up a new business). It's almost impossible to list all that's been done but here goes. Here's what's included in the auction. 80% assembledAll black nylon coated to an exceptional high gloss. satin or matt on the following. Original seat pan nylon coatedFoot restsInstrument cupsseat basebattery boxframe. subframe and swing armside and centre standsengine casesYolksEngineMatching numbers with frameBottom-end and gearbox rebuild (By others)soda-blasted casesRefurbished oil pumpNew cables and oil linesStandard cylinders and pistonsWheels professionally refurbished. new bearings and shod with AvonsNew wiring Harness. Front NOSMost rubbers such as side panel grommets. battery box. footrests and handlebar grips etc all replaced - NOS where possibleForks re-chromed. ground and bottoms nylon coated - They'll NEVER pit!Petrol tank tested and striped ready for painting. Seat re-covered.

What needs doing:-

Chroming :-All Speed Expansion pipes need re-chroming (They're in excellent condition but 30 year old chrome just doesn't cut it alongside the gleaming refurbished efforts thus far. Kick start lever and gear lever need re-chroming. Handlebar switchgear needs refurbishingCarburettors need refurbishing (Choke levers already re-finished in gold zincing as per original)Seat trim. Side panel. oil tank and petrol tank need paintingBrakesI'm estimating around £1000 will finish the bike to the same exceptionally high standard that has been used to date. I've got a reserve on it that doesn't cover the costs to date but do mean if you are looking for a giveaway - best look elsewhere to save wasting both our times. I'm also not interested in splitting the auction. A deposit of £100 immediately after the auction via bank transfer is required and you will need a van to collect within 7 days. PLEASE DON'T pay any monies to Pay Pal. That's only included as E bay doesn't list cash or bank transfer. The bike is listed elsewhere so I reserve the right to end the auction early. If you'd like to view before you bid please feel free to call me Dave on 07917 821931Good Luck
