1976 Yamaha DT400 DT 400 Original Low Miles

 You are looking at my 1976 Yamaha DT400.   I've had it about 9 years now. It had just over 2000 miles on it when I got it. I stripped it down. painted the frame and black parts with Dupont acrylic urethane 2-Part Chroma-one paint.

The tank. side covers and fenders were painted with Dupont Chroma Base/Clear coat. The top end came off and Yamaha NOS. standard size piston and rings installed. All new seals and gaskets installed in the engine. oil injection pump and carb. New chain and sprockets. the rear 3 teeth smaller. nbsp;cables and tires/tubes installed. New fork seals and steering head bearings installed.  

The fuel tank was coated with new Tank Cr£me. The original battery was gutted and Ni-cads were installed inside. much better than the lead acid.

The wheel bearings were cleaned and repacked as was the swingarm bushings.  All the aluminum parts were cleaned and polished.  Much of the original hardware was re-Cad plated. the rest replaced with stainless.

This bike runs great. has no noise from the top-end and rides very nice. and as you can see. is very clean.

 This big 2-stroke pulls hard and makes a nice road bike. cruises at 55-60 no problem.

Sad to let it go. but I have too many bikes. I'm kind of a Yamaha 2-stroke nut.

The last 2 pictures are when I first got the bike.   The CT175 I sold last month. the buyer was very happy with his "New Bike"
