Description

It is with great sadness that I am listing for sale my Yamaha Rd 350 project that I have recently finished.

The bike was orignally an RD250 non matching numbers with a V5 but in a bit of a state.

I then got roped into a build off senario as part of the two stroke forum which ended at Cadwell park in augaust. some may have seen the bike in practical sportsbike magazine.

This bike has had a full bare frame rebuild I will list the mods/parts replaced or modified

RD250 frame modified. removed all unwanted brackets and modified rear end to accomodate the seat unit.

undertray and battery box fabricated to keep clean lines and wiring loom hidden as much as possible

RS 125 front fork and yoke conversion. RS125 clip ons.

Cagiva mito brembo brake system including master cylinder and caliper with new bracket to fit

RD350LC 31k swingarm modified to fit twin shock set up. all holes blanked. welded and then powder coated

Cagiva mito front and rear wheel conversion with sticky rubber obviously runs 17 wheels now with a wider choice of tyres.

New 5mm off set front sprocket and new rear sprocket with new chain.

I bought a 350 engine which were on the standard bores but have now been opened up to 0. 5 mm oversize by PJME engineering with new pistons at ??104 each!!! not cheap rubbish.

Engine was rebuilt with all new gaskets and seals. crank was A1 so that was cleaned and outer bearings replaced then re-fitted.

Barrels and heads were sent to Mick Abbey to add a bit more oomph to the motor. Barrels were ported and heads were skimmed.

I also replaced the exhasts and ordered a set of Lomas pipes from vince @ Fondseca.

The ignition system was also replaced so the bike now has a new electronic ignition system with charging facility also from vince @ Fondseca

Both the above items were near enough ??1000 on their own. maybe just over that I cant remember.

A TZ fiberglass tank is also fitted with a maxton 350 tail unit that houses the battery etc.

New wiring loom made specifically for the bike. headlight. brakelight. sidelights etc all work but no indicators.

The bike has a 10 month MOT left and I have the full V5 to hand.

No tax at present.

Bike starts and runs. I have set the jetting on the rich side for running it in. you will be lucky if the bike has covered 100 miles since it was mot'd.

This is an old two stroke and an aircooled one at that. they can be a pain in the bum but so rewarding at the same time.

The bike will need setting up 100% once run in and few adjustments here n there as you go.

Bike sounds amazing. great soundtrack

the only reason im selling is to clear some space for my next venture. if the bike does not meet the reserve then so be it. I will not sell this for pennies but nor do I want a kings randsome unlike some old Rd's on here.

Any questions please ask and I will do my best to answer
