Yamaha XJ550 + Spares Xj 550, Cafe racer, custom project

 Up for sale is my Yamaha XJ550 project. i was going to cafe racer it originally (as you can see from the attempt to shape some mahogany into a seat base haha) but it does still come with the seat shown in the original pictures (cant seem to find front mudgaurds atm). Neither bikes have MOT atm (run out in July). The complete bike does run but currently has no oil in it so i can show you it turning over with the plugs out but cant start it up due to no oil. The spare engine i was told was a runner but as you can see from the picture it has a hole in one of the side casings. The complete bike was going to be finished in a "rat look" patina style finish so the tank has been sanded back to the effect shown and then laquered to seal in the finish and prevent it from rusting. it may not be to everyones taste but i like it and it could be easily repainted if wanted! Its had the frame shortened with a rear hoop bar cut ready to fit. looks a million times better ending at the end of the seat. The battery is flat but can get some jump leads on it to show it isnt seized or anything. If you wanted to finish the seat base it will need drying and some more sanding and shaping but youre more than welcome to it (even if it just gives you an idea of what a cafe racer XJ looks like. they do look good when they are finished). The spares bike was imported from Japan and unfortunatly doesnt have any paper work but it does come with the engine. loom. wheels. forks. headlights etc (everything in pics). Would make an ideal project over the winter. ive got far too many projects on the go and not enough space or time to complete any of them so theyve got to go! No reserve so they sell for what they go for. no haggling when you get here etc. Cash on collection only from Gosport.
