yamaha xvs 1100 dragstar

Bikes like this just don?ˆ™t come up very often :-

It a year 2000 Yamaha XVS 1100 custom in black with only 5800 mile on it from new. It is air cooled and carburettor so and not like the newer cruisers with radiators that can spoil the whole look. It will do 110mph and sits happily at 80+ . Its low and easy to manage. Tank range is 130 mile plus  about 20 on reserve. It drives like new and gets comments wherever you park it.

Its shaft drive so no messy chains to oil and adjust.

It is all original barring some stainless steel braided front brake lines. clear indicator lenses (Original ambers lenses included)  and 12V accessory socket for sat nav/phone.

I paid ??4000 for the bike about 18 months ago with 3700 miles on it and have spent ??500+ on it on the items below to make sure it was where it needed to be from a service point of view. The tyres were original and not worn out but the rubber had gone hard which was not good if you got caught in the wet so I replaced them for safety reasons

The bike is mechanically perfect and drives like new.

It has had the following

Front and Rear Tyres 170/80-15 Michelin Commander 2 . 110/90-18 Michelin Pilot Active 34psi F . 36 psi R fitted 10/1/14 Fitted at 5500miles ??300and as new as only have 300 miles on them.

Oil and Filter Change  3. 1Lt with filter. 3. 0Lt without.   SAE 10W-40 (No anti Friction or energy saver additives) changed ??40

Air Filter changed ??10. 00

Spark Plugs Re gap BPR7ES ( NGK) 0. 7-0. 8mm  20Nm ?? 12. 00

Rear hub oil change SAE 80W90 GL-4 . 5. 6   0. 2L  ??5. 00

Brake lines changed to stainless braided Front ??75

Brake fluid change Dot 4 changed in Front ??5. 00

Front Brake Pads replaced ??35

Battery GT14B-4 12V 12A replaced ?? 55 kept on an optimate so battery is 100%

Clear indicator covers ??35. 00

Mot carried out on 4th Feb 2014 completed passed with no warnings.

Mileage only 5800 just about run in!

MOT until Feb 2015 but will pass without any problems taxed until Mar I think?

As I said it is 100% and in incredible condition for its age. All the chrome is excellent with no pitting or corrosion. The good thing about something like this is if you look after it. it will not lose money and may actually increase in value. Insurance should be cheap as it is classed as a classic. I did the work on the bike as I was planing to keep it but I have just bought a Harley and do not have the space.

This bike is really is quite exceptional. I really don?ˆ™t want to sell it but need the garage space.
