1978 XS650 Standard XS 650 Original Resto

For sale is my 1978 XS650 Standard - the last year of the Standard XS's.   As far as I can tell. this is completely stock.   I bought this bike seven years ago. rode it home. drained the gas and parked in the garage.   I have several other XS650s and the right project for this one never came along.   I've got to many bikes clogging up the garage and it's time for this one to go.   The bike is currently not running - I have not touched it since I rode it home.   It will need some TLC to be runner. but nothing out of the ordinary.   I figure an afternoon will have it up and running. but I don't have the time or inclination right now.   The motor kicks over with good compression and the trans shifted perfectly on my trip with it.   The last photo shows the inside of the tank is virtually rust free.   The exhaust is also in good shape. some surface rust on the header pipes. but the cross-over and mufflers are still solid.   There is a shallow dime-size dent on the tank and some small scratches.   The seat is in fair shape. but does have a couple small holes (pinky nail size) on the left side. The starting bid reflects it's project condition. I will be happy to store the bike for a short time for the auction winner and will make time to meet a shipper if needed.   I will make no shipping arrangements. that is the winners responsibility. The title is clean and clear and in my name. There is no reserve.   The bike will go to the highest bidder.   I expect a $100 deposit via Pay Pal within 48 hours of the auction ending.   The balance of the price will by cash or cashiers check/money order.
