Yamaha FJ1200

I Have owned this 1990 Yamaha FJ1200 for over four years and covered 3500 miles. The bike is in good mechanical condition. comparable for its age but tends to run a little lumpy when cold with the choke on but once warm and the choke pushed in it runs fine. The overall appearance of the bike is let down by it having a number of scratches. knocks and paint chips and the fairing air intake surrounds have been repaired. Prior to the MOT the oil and filter have been changed and the following work carried out. 2114 New Metzeler Lasertec rear tyre. rear disc pads. calipers rebuilt with new seals. wheel bearings and battery. 2113 New Front discs. new disc pads. calipers re built. ew wheel bearings and seat cover fitted. I purchased the bike from Bike magazine who used it for a series of articles over three months titled Master Blasters which featured together with a CBR and ZX-10 a number of comparison tests and culminated with a round trip to the Nurburgring and a lap round the circuit. Interestingly in the power comparison test the FJ came out top with 112bhp at the back wheel. Bike magazine also up graded the front brakes to R1 calipers and stainless brake hoses. Included with the bike are a pair of Krauser lockable panniers shown in the photo and a file which contains the original purchase invoice. a limited amount of repair and maintenance invoices. most of the MOT certificates from 1997 and the relevant copies of Bike Magazine.
