The best Harley V-Rod model ever made. And yet it was produced for only 2 years making it a hard bike to find. Â Many experts consider the short lived VRSCR Harley Street Rod the best of the V-Rod motorcycles ever. Â Strong powerplant. inverted front forks (the only ones for a V-Rod) and amazing Brembo triple disc brakes (2 in front. one out back). Â This one is quite clean with low miles and many upgrades. including about $1. 00 in suspension upgrades (Works Performance billet shocks and Hyperpro Suspension fork upgrades). and high quality Italian Rizoma handlebars and mirrors. Almost new Metzeler tires (less than 100 miles on them) front and back. CFR exhaust (a bit scruffy but very good at making power). Â This motorcycle shows less than 9. 00 miles. but I can not confirm this is accurate as I bought it used a few years ago and put very few miles on it myself. That's why I am now selling it. Â The condition is generally quite good. I have not ridden this bike much in the last year or so . ut kept it well maintained. Fairly new battery. In fact I started it this morning after sitting for months. It immediately started right up and quickly settled to a healthy idle. Â The only real issue (other than the scuffy and loud exhaust). is that the hydraulic clutch master cylinder seal allowed some fluid out causing the paint to bubble up. Â The bike comes with the original owners manual and 2 ignition keys and Harley security key fobs. as well as a battery pig tail to connect to a battery charger. This bike is straight and true and has not been in any accidents or wrecks. Original paint. Very reasonable reserve well below Blue Book pricing.
I am a reasonable person describing the bike as best I can. Please ask all questions before bidding. I expect the winning bidder to make good on his or her bid and pay for the bike within 10 days of the auction end. The motorcycle is in Stamford. CT and I am happy to help is transporting it to the winner at your cost.
Cycle World reports the following about this motorcycle model:Years sold:Â 2006-2007
MSRP new:Â $15. 95 to $15. 70
Blue Book retail value:Â $7940 (2006). $8500 (2007)
Basic specs:Â An 1130cc. dohc. 60-degree. fuel-injected V-Twin making 120 horsepower and 80-foot pounds of torque in a standard-style chassis with upright ergonomics. sport-tuned suspension. Brembo brakes and sticky tires.
Why it won (Best Used Bikes status):Â The Street Rod never won a Ten Best award and was only in the H-D lineup for two years. Evidently. the vast majority of Harley fans had little use for a very sporty V-Rod.
Too bad. because this one was arguably the best and most versatile V-Rod ever built. On a backroad. the Street Rod could rip through corners better than any road-legal Harley up to that time. yet it was comfortable. easy to maneuver and ideal for everyday commuting or weekend exploring. The Porsche-designed engine was?ˆ”and still is. in current V-Rod models??ˆ”one of the smoothest. most captivating and civilized V-Twins the industry has ever seen. with a powerband that begins when the engine first burbles to life and ends when the rev limiter kicks in.
Useful resources: Because of the small number of Street Rods sold during its two-year run. there are only a few forums that even mention them. and none are exclusive to that model; they either deal with all V-Rods or even all H-D V-Twins. with a section devoted to Street Rods. One is www. 1130cc. com/forums; another is www. aimag. com.  There are quite a few reviews of the VRSCR. along with accessories. some performance gear and other equipment available to fit this model. And. of course. a number of Street Rods for sale.
A lot of riders would shy away from a H-D model that only enjoyed a very brief and not particularly successful existence. but they might be surprised to discover that the Street Rod is one of the best-kept secrets in all of motorcycling.
