Scala Rider with XM Radio in HD hybrid helmet.

The FLSTS Heritage Springer was introduced in 1997 as a replacement for the FLSTN Heritage Softail. It  comes with saddlebags with fringe. whitewalls. fishtail mufflers. and passing lamps as an effort to give it the look of a '48 FL Panhead. The '97-'99 models years had an Evolution motor with a 5-speed transmission. The Evolution engine is 80 cubic inches(1340 cc) and used a dual fire ignition which fired both the cylinders at the same time. The gas tank is split with a 4. 2 gallon capacity. Radical changes occurred with the coming of the 2000 model year. A new Softail frame was introduced with a different and improved geometry. The frame backbone was strengthened and a new swingarm with improved rear brakes (additional piston) were added.  The Evolution motor was replaced with the Twin Cam. The Twin Cam was increased to 88 cubic inches(1450 cc) and for Softails only. was counterbalanced to compensate for the rigid mounting system used.  This unit has upgraded fishtail mufflers. air horn. XM radio. drink holder. HD hybrid helmet with Scala Rider enabling one to listen to other riders and XM radio.
