1975 Honda CB 550 K1 Cafe Racer

 

Up for sale is my 1975 Honda CB550 K1.   I have a clear title in-hand.   I am the third owner of this motorcycle.   To the best of my knowledge. it was never in an accident.   I purchased this motorcycle in 2011 with the intention of building a caf?© racer.   I have since lost interest and really want the space back in my garage.  

I disassembled the bike and labeled all pieces for reassembly.   I had the frame professionally modified with battery box tailpiece from Benjies Caf?© Racers (http://www. benjiescaferacer. com/battery-box. php).   If you?ˆ™re not familiar with the modification. it allows the battery and most electronics to be mounted in the tail section giving the motorcycle the naked. see-through. appearance.   Additionally. I shaved the electronics tabs and had the frame professionally powder-coated gloss black.   The wheels are also powder-coated gloss black.   All the bike needs to be a rolling chassis is rear springs. wheels spoked and trued. and front forks rebuilt.   I have brand new Dunlop tires and tubes and a spoke kit for the wheels.   All included in the purchase.   The tank is in average condition and has a dint in the side.   This will easily be fixed with minor bodywork.   The engine would not start when it was purchased but easily turned over.   I have opened the engine but have not done any work on it.   When I opened it. it was the first time it had been opened.   All labeled bags. body pieces. parts. wires. etc. that were salvageable will be included in the purchase.  

I have well over $1700. 00 in labor. parts. and modifications.   This bike is a great project bike and the 550s make awesome caf?© racers.   This one just needs someone to continue to love it.   Hopefully. you will have the desire to complete it.
