Erik Buell returned from the ashes of Buell Motorcycles. a subsidiary of Harley Davidson. with the creation of Erik Buell Racing and their first production model. The 1190RS was released to much fanfare as a truely American designed and produced superbike! With this limited production model. EBR would legalize their machine for AMA superbike competition by producing only 75 units for 2012.    

Like "homologation specials" before it. the 1190RS would be fitted with the finest components and technology fit for racing machines and legalized for street use. Ohlins is the go-to manufacturer for suspension components at the highest level and the 1190RS receives their top-shelf 43mm inverted fork and TTX rear shock. Accossoto levers and master cylinders provide precision in the controls. while an Aimsports dash completes the cockpit. EBR brought it's radical engineering to the 1190RS in the form of cast hubless magnesium wheels. front perimeter braking system. magnesium subframe. and their fuel-in-frame fuel cell. The engine in the 1190RS began life as a Rotax design. but is heavily changed by EBR. so much so that it shares very little with the original. Peak output is 175hp and 97tq.    

The EBR 1190RS listed here is #10 and includes a $6. 00 optional carbon package. The Carbon Edition replaces all standard bodywork with carbon fiber pieces that are meticulously laid by hand. of the highest quality. and must be seen in person to truly appreciate the level of detail and labor that painstakingly went into every component. Dry carbon pieces finish up underlying support for the headlamp. dash. undertail. and ducting for the perimeter brake.
