yamaha srx 600

 Hi and welcome to my auctionI have for sale my 1986 Yamaha SRX 600. I am selling as I don't have the time to either ride or give the TLC it deserves. The bike is a runner however has just failed its MOT on a few minor things that I just don't have time to sort out:Left hand switch gear has a fault - the horn andheadlight controls not working. They have worked so I guess it is a loose wire or similarNeeds a new rear reflectorNeeds a new rear tyreThe rear brake pedal is clashing with the exhaust pipe - just needs adjusting. It also has 2 advisorys:nearside fork has light misting of stanchionrear brake has slight fluctuation of brake effortOver the years I have had the bike I have done a fair bit to it although I bought it with an MOT and rode it away when I bought it. I have been right through the engine replacing most gaskets and having oil pipes re-conditioned. The bike has a lot of miles on the clock but I don't beleieve this is particularly accurate as the engine internals were in good condition. I have had the carbs cleaned and setup and have a K and N filter. The origanal bars are missing as shown in the photos but I do have 1 clipon in a box of spares which comes with the bike. I have a few bits but I'm not totally sure what. The originanl exhaust has long rusted away so it now has twin trumpet style exhausts. These came with the bike however they were huge when I got it so I had them shortened by about 6 inches. They do need to be painted or similar. The rear shocks are after market as are the fork internals and work well. The bike handles really nice but I cannot say what was fitted. There are a couple of paint chips on the tank where the bars catch but these can be fixed easily. I think that this is not the orginal tank as I it looks like factory paint and I am sure that the bike started out grey as the mudguard and rear are painted this colour. This is a guess though but I think the red looks good in any case. The bike does run and was started recently for the MOT. It is the kickstart model so can require a bit of effort until you get the knack. I have had the battery on the optimate for a couple of weeks so I have not started it since then. It does require some TLC to get it pristine but is essentially a good bike. It is running nicely on choke but is not ticking over properly. Probably just needs either the tickover adjusting or the carbs given a clean. I have also just found the spares I have.  Further info: I have been out to my garage to  find that fuel has been leaking from the carbs overflow. This has happened before  when I first got the bike and was corrected by cleaning the carbs and replacing the float valve. As the bike has not been used in anger since at least march 2013 I'm guessing that is what has happened agin. It would also account for the poor idling as it is obviously flooding. My plan is to take it in to my mechanic and get it sorted and get it re-MOTed. This will obviously mean that I will not except low offers however with this in mind if it requested that I do nothing to repair and an offer is made I will consider.
