Description

the bike is a classic collectable two-stroke. it is extremely quick for a 125cc bike and can reach over 125mph with a zero-60 value of under 5 seconds when tuned to peak performance. be aware that this bike is very old and will require semi-regular work to keep it running smoothly. i am selling this bike because i am doing an aeronautical engineering degree and cant afford to keep it running. this is the first bike i have ever bought and when i bought it i did not understand what a poor state the bike was in. the bike had had a large number of young owners and was at one point used as a track bike and almost every part of the bike had been damaged. within a month after buying it i was told it needed an engine rebuild (the piston rings had deformed due to high pressures and severly damaged the cylinder). me and a group of mechanics then set about doing a complete restoration of the bike. spending about 25 hours a week working on it for over a year. (this was in 2012)in this time we:powder coated the frame. swing arm as well as many other small parts.  fully rebuilt engine and changed the majority of the components (the engine has been taken apart twice in the last 6 months whilst trying to diagnose a problem and is all in perfect condition. the problem turned out to be the floats being set too low)rebored cylinder (it is now a 129cc)complete paint job of fairingchanged clocksmade new handlebarschanged wheel bearingsmade a more efficient air boxbody filled and cleaned tankbought new radiator and gave it a custom paint jobchanged sections of wiring and indicatorsremoved pillion sanded and cleaned mud and chain guardbought new foot pedalsput in new state of the art. powder coated shock absorber (red and black)painted and autosoled exhaustchanged filler capput in lots of stainless boltsECTafter this work was done the bike was crashed into twice (whilst parked)the damage and imperfections on the bike are as follows:quick paint job done on side panel (has not been waxed like the rest)stress cracks and scratches on side panel and front fairingscratches on exhaustscratches on handlebarsthe (non-professionally) painted side panel has slightly melted when it was in use on another bike (shown in picture)back piece of fairing doesn't clip in perfectlykick stand has snapped and then been bolted back togethergear lever is slightly bent but not to a noticeable degreeshine taken of part of powder coat due to battery acid leak. (not noticeable unless pointed out)side panel very slightly sticks out where it plugs into the petrol tank. some paint has been removed from exhaust due to a petrol leakfloats sometimes stick when the bike hasn't ran for a while. a tap on the carb sorts it out immediatelyi have tried to be as honest as possible but may have omitted some information due to forgetfulness. i recommend anyone who considers buying the bike to view it first. with the bike there is also a box of spares:all documentation required (Haynes manual. owners manual ECT)damaged fairingradiatordamaged clocksfoot standshornbrake and clutch leverindicator transformeroriginal decals with stamp (25 years old)i have tried to take pictures of all the imperfections on the bike.  the bike works outstandingly for its age. starts first or second kick but may need the choke depending on environmental conditions. i fully rebuilt the engine in 2012 and i think it has only done around 500 miles since. i apologise if some of the pictures are slightly blurry I am not currently in the same city as the bike and have left it with my mechanic Paul. so please call him to arrange viewing the bike on 07531 304681. this is my parents eBay account that they have kindly let me use. they know nothing about this bike or bikes in general so please direct all questions to my mechanic or me on 07807901022. or you can email me on danny-mcdermott@hotmail. com. since it is me who has done all this work i know the bike inside out and even after the purchase will be happy to help out with any questions or problems. i will refund up to two weeks after purchase within reason (ie i wont if you have crashed it). but you will need to pay to transport it back to the garage. i have made this listing in a rush and will keep editing it to make it more precise.
