2003 Aprilia ETV1000 Caponord Rally Raid

 Here we go then. my 2003 (53 Reg) Aprilia ETV1000 Caponord Rally Raid for sale.   With fewer and fewer opportunities to ride it. or any of the other Aprilias that I have. due to horse mad kids I've finally decided it can go. The bike was sold new in the Republic of Ireland and I brought it into the UK in June 2012. I had to put it throught the SVA test prior to registering it here in the UK and it was given an age related '53-reg' plate by the DVLA. It had 2 owners in Ireland so I'm the third owner from new. The bike was showing 42788 miles when it was first MOT'd in the UK and I'm ashamed to admit that it now only has 43768 showing now over 2 years later. Too many bikes. not enough time to ride :-(I have a thick folder full of receipts and notes relating to work carried out throughout it's life together with spare air and oil filters. spare reg/rec and a spare coil.   I've changed the oil since bringing it into the UK and will do so again before it goes to a new owner.   New tyres since it came to the UK (Maxxis). so less than 1000 miles on them so far.   Plenty of life in the chain and sprockets too. If you're looking at this listing  then you probably already know that the Caponord Rally Raid was a limited run bike with only 400 manufactured for the worldwide market and apprently 20 brought into the UK. I'm led to believe that there are now 17 left here including mine.   Check out this site. run by a Brit ex-pat in Italy. for the full low down on this uber rare machine:  http://www. moto-abruzzo. com/aprilia-caponord-rally-raid/ Please don't confuse this bike with the standard Caponord that Aprilia produced.   This version has longer travel suspension. different bars. a sump guard. centre stand and gel seat compared to the standard machine. not to mention the amazing colour scheme that evokes thoughts of the desert sands of the Paris Dakar rally. notice my tongue firmly in my cheek here ;-) Despite it's Irish origins the bike is full UK spec with an MPH speedo and odometer in miles. MOT'd until June 2015. Taxed until end of Nov this year. but with the new rules here in the UK that doesn't mean much unless we backdate the sale to 30th September ;-)Bike comes complete with the OEM side cases as per on of the pics.   They are in great shape. lock with a single key and hold a ton of gear for those long trips.   Standard crash bars show no signs of the bike ever having been dropped and I've added an official Aprilia headlight guard to complete the set. All in all an original. un-molested example of a very rare bike. You hardly ever see them for sale and I spent some time tracking this one down when I was looking. Just can't bare to see it sitting unused so it needs to go.   Certainly different to the run of the mill BMW GS adventure bikes that all the wannabe Ewan and Charlies ride around on!  You'll rarely see another one. I'm pretty sure of that. I'm near Lincoln. only 40 mins from the A1 at Newark so very easy to get to from all four courners of the UK.   I do have a trailer so could deliver within a reasonable distance. for an agreed fee.
