1974 BMW R90S

1974 BMW R90/6Up for auction sale is a very presentable numbers matching R90S in excellent running condition. She starts right up rides and handles like a dream.As you BMW aficionadosknow 1974 was the first year for the R90S series and this bike is a fine example.The odometer states 20339 miles. Mileage may increase a little as I get in my last few rides.Cosmetically she's in very nice condition. The Silver Smoke paint is all original with exception of the front fender being repainted.There are a few scratches on the tank and some paint wear on the left side of the tank (see pics). There is a slight ding and a crease also on the tank left side that is not very noticeable. Original side covers havesome small chips and common cracking near the tabs that has been repaired with plastic weld on the backside. The chrome and aluminum wheels are shiny and bright with some very light wear & scratches. Mufflers have some light blemishes and a couple of small dings with no rust or rot. Seat is in good shape with no rips or tears.All in all very nice looking for a 41 year old bike.Mechanically she's in fantastic shape. Starts right up at a touch of the button or if you prefer you can use the kick start 1974 being the last year for this standard feature. All electrics work properly however the clock loses time. This R90S runs beautifully brakes handles and shifts as she should. Motor is tight with excellent compression great power and no leaks. Recently installed a brand new $400 set of IKON rear shocks. Many parts have been replaced with correct OEM BMW including: handlebars mirrors Magura grips front brake light and clutch switches fuel lines & master cylinder rebuild. Also replaced front brake lines with black plastic coated stainless steel ones to keep that original look. Tires are good but could use replacing at some point in the future..All propermaintenance (fluids carbs valve adjustment timing) has been performed she just needs someone to ride and enjoy!All in all a very solid and lovely machine. An absolute thrill to ride a joy to look at and appreciating very quickly at this time. Very reliable and comfortable.The description of this motorcycle is written to the best of my knowledge.
