The motorcycle was given to me by my late father. who until succumbing from cancer was a motorcycle courier. with the bike being his most prized possession.
He maintained the bike to a very high standard. using only quality parts. due to the amount of time he spent on it. Sadly. due to his illness he was unable to continue riding the bike and therefore gave the bike to myself.
Unfortunately at that time I had not long passed my motorcycle test and despite having driven a car for many years. the size of the bike was somewhat formidable and as a result was not used a great deal by myself. Due to the cost associated with running the vehicle when I had a perfectly good car. I ended up obtaining a SORN notification and the bike has been under a bike cover in a garage ever since.
I have therefore come to the decision that the bike is certainly not being used at the moment and I do not expect to use it in the near future. which feels a great shame given how much my father loved his bike. Therefore I am looking to find it a new home. ideally where it will be well looked after and enjoyed. just as my father did.
Like I said. the bike has been very well maintained and given it was working very well up to being SORN registered. and that it has been stored under a bike cover and in a garage. I would expect that the bike simply needs a simple bit of TLC to get back up and running.
It of course does not come with an MOT or a tax disc. however the reserve I have placed on the bike very much reflects this.
The bike has a number of features which include:
An electric windscreen to allow the rider to adjust the aerodynamic flow of the air over the bike
A radio in the left storage panel
I believe it has heated hand grips. although I did not have a need to try them
Heated clothing. with the heated under clothing coming with the bike - my dad swore by this and the heated grips when he worked over the winter. and every bike he used he installed these features
I believe he replaced the seat with an extra comfortable seat due to the long hours he spent on it. Even for a softie like myself. I did find it rather comfortable
It does have an alarm fitted. although I did not use it myself so I could not confirm if it works
A considerable amount of spares. including pads. oil filters. cables etc. all of which can be seen in the pictures. This alone is no doubt worth a good few pounds.
The bike is generally in good condition given its age. although it does have a few small scratches etc on the bodywork. although no more than would be expected. I would hope that the pictures would allow an intended bidder to make an informed decision; however should anyone wish to come and have a look then I will of course do my best to accommodate.
Given my emotional attachment. and the circumstances around this bike. nbsp;I hope that any bidders will be considerate and conduct themselves accordingly. I do not expect the winner to change their mind after having bid. as this will be viewed very dimly. I am very welcome to questions. as I want bidders to feel comfortable and confident that they are bidding on what they think they are bidding on.
Also. I will not be taking the bike off early for a cash sale; I will be letting the auction end
I expect the winner to collect the bike promptly (by Sunday 19th Oct). If this is going to be an issue. then please contact me before bidding. although please not that I will expect a 10% deposit to be paid directly to me immediately after the auction closes. The balance will be cash on collection (for the auction price only!)
I hope that this proves of interest. and as I said. please feel free to ask any questions. which I will do my very best to answer
Happy bidding. and I hope the right person wins!

On 12-Oct-14 at 16:43:12 BST. seller added the following information:If it wold help the winning bidder. then provided the full amount has been paid for the bike upfront. I would not mind keeping the bike in the garage for a week or so while they organise an MOT etc.
If it would help there is a motorcycle MOT business in my town. "Lings" which may be a good place to start.
I would stress that I would not consider myself responsible for the bike if it is left in my garage. although given it has been there for a good few years without trouble. I doubt there would be any problems.
I hope you will find this helpful.
