Description

This is a BSA Cafe racer project that I recently purchased. It's not running. nbsp;currently it's wired for no battery. but I am told putting a battery in is the best idea to get it reliable. This bike won 1st prize at the Boardwalk bike show in South Florida. It has many new parts including tires and spokes. it has custom body work. tail and fairing with fresh paint. Sold as-is for you to complete. Currently. the license and registration is paid for through Moto Recycle who will title this bike in Vermont. This process will take another 6-8 weeks. but I can then forward you the title which you can use to register the bike in your home state. This is being sold with no reserve. The back is currently in Los Angeles. I purchased it in Florida and had it shipped to LA. Please note. that I bought this with undisclosed issues and I don't have time for a project. Here are the issues when I received the bike: there is an oil leak from the left side of the engine. a mechanic opened it to check the clutch and said it needed a new clutch. while he was there he said the crankshaft had too much play. The mechanic also stated that the bike should have a battery rather than the way it's wired now. The following is the description FROM THE BUILDER OF THE BIKE - Crush Cycle Works in Florida (not me. this is how it was described to me. ) Recently completed Cafe Racer Project based on a 1968 BSA Firebird Scrambler frame and a 1970 -Y motor. I bought this thing in non running condition about 10 years ago and finally ended up building it up into what you see here. One of a kind cafe tail section. seat and fairing Custom exhaust Custom stainless steel exhaust mounts Frame. wheels. and bodywork all have fresh PPG paint New Dunlop tires New Stainless Spokes from Buchanan's Sealed Fiberglass Norton Commando tank New Amal Carbs Pazon Electronic Ignition wired for no battery New Brake Pads and wheel Bearings New Front Fork Bushings and seals New Cables New Stator New Petcocks New Chain Axle mounted tag mount Starts easy. idles well. runs very strong. No apparent oil leaks. maybe a drop or 3 here and there. I have not had this engine apart. I cleaned it up. cycled some clean oil through it. painted the cylinder head. adjusted the tappets. plumbed and wired it and got it running. I plumbed it with clear oil lines temporarily to monitor the oil flow and condition and to make sure the rockers are getting fed. Everything looks and sounds great so far. but please keep in mind that this is a 45 y/o engine with an unknown history. Please check the pics and ask any questions. I have a small shop in South Florida and focus on vintage customs. Please check the last few pics for some other bikes I have done. I currently have several desirable donor bikes if you are looking for someone to do a full build. or I can fabricate some parts for your build: Tanks. seats. exhaust. fairings. tail sections. fender mods. etc. This bike was finished right before Biketoberfest and one first place in the Vintage Radical class at the Boardwalk Classic Bike Show.
