1957 AJS M30CS

1957 AJS M30CS Got this bike about six years ago from Victorville, A.(the blue bike in my pictures). I removed the blue paint with lacquer thinner to expose the original paint. Fabricated a seat pan (copied from an original), ront fender stays, nd side stand. Added the front fender,chainguard, ail light and license plate bracket, eat cover, nd new chain. Runs okay, o just checked the valve lash and serviced the magneto.Painted the tank, ool box, nd oil tank cover with spray lacquer from the car parts store (it doesn't stand up to gasoline, o I'm really careful when filling( when I removed the paint from the toolbox a white layer was the bottom color, he factory did have an arctic white, used an off white, imbledon white. The book says that the AJS's werepainted black.). I put an oilpan under it while sitting in the garage. If I were to keep the bike I would at some pointdisassemble the motor to inspect it and reseal it, lso get some softer foam for the seat.When I adjusted the valves I rotated the pushrods and the clearance varied a few thousands. So, set with about .005 at the tightest point.This bike is pretty much all original except for the alloy primary cover(correct for 1958, in cover in 1957),white paint, eat, nd a few parts that I fabricated. Fairly rare model, nly aboutforty (1957 and 1958 G11's and M30's, ssuming most are GS's)listed in the AJS and Matchless Owners Club North American Section Roster.
