The bike was previously advertised and whilst listed it was ridden and was fine but developed a problem where it turns over fine but only runs for a few seconds and stops. Because of this I took it off the auction as the description was now wrong. I have checked the fuel line and the carb float which was stiff but seemed to move up and down with fuel flow. I have been unable with limited knowledge to resolve this issue and as such I have reflected this issue in the start price and hope it can sell to a more knowledgeable person than myself. if not next summer?ˆ™s project !.
Black. with silver trim . 49cc. MOT until May 2015 and Tax until 2015. V5c present.
The bike was off the road for an unknown period up to 1990 when restoration took place. This is listed as new points. plug. coil. battery. engine overhaul. new exhaust system. wiring. carb and inner fuel tank. complete re-spray in black. It was used for some time and then dry stored. On 3/10/1990 The vintage motor cycle club Ltd issued certificate 5003 to the bike with the engine and chassis numbers that remain. Certificate present with bike. Bike always kept in garage.
In 2009 the bike was sent to' R J M classics' in Arlesey Beds who carried out a 67 hour re-commission costing £2345. 00 over a lengthy period. This proved to be a long process as some items [stand central pin] for example could not be located and had to be created by specialist Tool Company which took months. Front and rear new tyres fitted.
In 2014 the bike finally went for its MOT but failed on the rear wheel alignment. The rear wheel was taken to 'Stotfold Engineering of Biggleswade' who took the wheel apart and realigned the wheel with new spokes and tightening to standard. The bike was re-tested and passed the MOT. The bike rides well and straight and its most recent outing was to cars on the common classic show in July 2014 at Harpenden. Herts. All receipts for recent work with bike as are some old MOTs [oldest 1989 ] . I recently sustained a fairly serious injury in my right arm and decided it would be a long time before I could ride again so having got the bike close to very good it needed to be used and hopefully appreciated rather than sit in my garage.
There is a small dink to the silver tank. present when I took possession. The Speedo lives in its own world and occasionally flickers into life but normally not. Plug is new so possible the standing unused since July hasn't helped. Very nice bike needing minor work to make a very good motor cycle. I have reflected these points in the start price and any test / inspection is welcome. The list of work carried out by previous owner says the wheels were pitted and were painted silver. I have not replaced or changed them. Hopefully this shows in the photos. Bike located at SG5 4LL about 3 mins drive from junction 10 of the A1m. Bike if purchased would need to be collected from SG5 4LL.
