Description

1957 BSA A10 GOLDEN FLASH. 650CC SWEET RUNNER

Here is a golden (excuse pun) opportunity to own what is probably the best loved British bike of the era - The BSA A10 Golden Flash. This model was one of the most popular bikes of the day. A beefy & powerful 650cc but not highly tuned so nice & tractable.

This example is in basically unrestored / rideable condition.

It starts easily and has just about the sweetest most mechanically quiet A10 engine I?ˆ™ve ever heard! It rides beautifully. handles well. pulls well through the gears etc.

Brakes are not brilliant particularly the rear which has the usual cable operated BSA design which gives a very soggy wooden feel.

The dynamo is charging well and all lights are good. A new `?ˆ?Dynaovolt?ˆ? battery is fitted . still 6v.

The Smith?ˆ™s 120mph speedometer is in good working order .

The bike comes with V5C document . registration NSL 891. date of registration 24th July 1957.

Frame number FA7 15994. engine number CA10 6149 both match V5C doc.

The bike is pre-6-MOT exempt and is registered as a Historic Vehicle (free road tax).

Cosmetically the bike is averagely quite good. It is one of those old bikes that has come through the years having had its tinware painted at some point . new exhaust & silencers fitted and so on. The paint on the frame is very decent enamel. Paint on the tinware is quite good although there is more than one shade of "gold-beige" in evidence. It is old looking in places but is generally very sound and practical. Front rim is a Jones and has dulled old chrome. The spokes are dull but clean and rust free. Rear rim has been replaced and is as new as are the spokes which are the original ?ˆ?rustless?ˆ? type.

Front tyre is hardly use Avon ribbed. rear is as new Dunlop K70.

Seat is in decent condition. It seems to have a slightly lower than normal riders seat height.

There is no fin damage on the engine and the engine is nice & oil tight.

This is a good solid A10 Golden Flash with a very sweet motor. It could be ideal to use and enjoy ?ˆ?as is?ˆ? or possibly restore to a higher standard.

Don?ˆ™t miss this top British Classic 650!
