Description

Ducati ST2 Sports TourerFor sale is this Ducati ST2 Sports Tourer. It's a 2001 model with 23. 37 miles on the clock. This is a genuinely regretful sale but as I have three Yamaha FJ1100s' and one FJ1200 already you can see where my loyalties lie. I got this bike last June as a stand in for the FJ1200 that I was due to go touring on. unfortunately the 12s' carbs began to leak at the last moment. in case there were any further issues with the 12 I got this bike instead. It runs beautifully and comes with matching Ducati luggage (which I think someone has re-blackened at some point). The bodywork has it's minor marks consistent with a bike of this age. the only more noticeable marks are from when someone pulled out of a parking space in front of me whence upon I >lowered< the bike as best I could to the ground. hence the lack of breakages. one thing I would say about this bike is it's very light. Since I got it it's been kept in a secure cosy garage and has never been out in the rain. the dry clutch takes a little getting used to after past Japanese machines but that's merely an observation. The MOT expires on the 14th April and I can see no reason why it wouldn't pass with no problems. That's about it really. it's a great bike. the brakes are superb and it's obviously been looked after over the years. if you do have any questions please feel free to mail me. it's located in Basingstoke in Hampshire. any viewings are welcome but test rides will involve handing over the full cash price beforehand and evidence of appropriate insurnace. The price isn't open to offers. Thank you for viewing. Further to some of the inquiries I've received: The bikes' history and service records seem to stop around 2010. this is partly why I have priced the bike at ?1695. 00. The previous owner assured me that the belts (to be done every two years on average mileage) were done in the April by a mechanic friend. (I bought the bike in June). my local bike shop that carried out the oil and filter service that month prior to my tour. also checked the belts and assured me they were fine. I know that service history is important. that the bike has obviously been looked after suggests to me that the previous owner wasn't lying. that said I'd be happy to get the belts done (about ?130) and add it to the price of the bike in order that I can hand over evidence of such with the bike.
