Ducati 749 Track bike / Race Bike

So firstly. pay attention and read the entire listing so you know exactly what you are bidding on as this is NOT a complete ready to ride bike. it’s close but will need a Ducatisti who knows what they are doing to complete this.

I was building this up as my spare race bike. was going to be a wet bike  for 2015 but due to change of plans and class both Ducati's have to go. first one is gone already. !

What we have got here is a decent rolling chassis. with the engine fitted. loom is there and all electrics are complete other than its needing a battery box. a battery  and 2 coils sticks.

The chassis is a  std 749 frame. none adjustable headstock model freshly powder coated blue. frame numbers are unmolested and present. I do not have a V5 for the bike but as it came from Luigi Moto you can probably get the reg number and apply for one. don’t ask me to do this as I never required a V5 as it’s a race bike. Frame is from a 2004 model.

The forks are std Ducati 749 forks with full K-Tech  re-valve kit fitted with springs. done by Steve Jordan Motorcycles. The rear shock is also std Ducati unit but also re-valved with K-Tech kit at Jordans. Ran both these and they are sweet.

The engine is a decent low mileage engine. bought from someone I know and I heard this running in the previous bike. Engine needs a set of timing belt covers. and the std clutch putting back in as was previously going to fit a Sigma slipper clutch. Engine numbers  are present and unmolested.

Bike comes with a freshly painted petrol tank. filler cap and fuel pump. Exhaust is a std 749 system BUT the end can has been extensively modified by MHP exhausts  and has had all of the restrictive internals removed. Pipe now runs and sounds as good  as a Termi. If you want the full spec of the mods then speak to Mark at MHP.

So. what does the bike need to finish it? Not a lot really but more than I have time to do…! The list below should just about cover it;

Fairing/screen/seat unit ( I have a mate with a freshly painted set he wants ?150 for)

Front Seat pad.

2 coils

Front brake lines

Clutch line

Set of rear sets

New Chain

Battery box

Battery

From memory that’s about it. maybe a few bolts here and there but nothing major required.

See the picture of the bits that come with the bike. that’s it so if you can’t see it then it isn’t there.

I will throw in the rear Ducati Performance Paddock stand. Costs ?170…!

So there you have it. I reckon ?500 - ?600 and a few hours fettling and it’s done.   I just sold my A bike for ?4k so you work it out. it’s cheap. If I personally spent the time and money to finish it then I could sell it tomorrow for ?3. 5k at least so someone is getting a bargain here.

Ask any question you like. but know that A) the bottom line is the start price. there is no reserve and the auction will run until some comes to my house and sticks pound notes in my hand. B) I don’t want to swap for your Ford Cortina/Girlfriend/BBQ and finally C) not breaking it or selling anything separate so buy the lot or jog on.

No offers. cash on collection. I am not in a rush or desperate to sell this I just need it out of the way. so if no one wants it in the current state I will complete it and sell it for proper money.
