Description

Custom 1979 HONDA CX500

Low reserve!

I have always been intrigued by the look of the 80 degree V twin engines in the Honda CX motorcycles, nbsp;(Unfortunately, ot too fond of the rest of the bike).

I decided to build a racy-looking bike that was fun, ight weight, asy to ride (not having to lay down on the tank). A bike known to be reliable (HONDA) and low-maintenance (shaft driven). This bike didn't need to be super fast or have monster brakes, nbsp;just a good looking, un, ruise around town bike. I also wanted it to have a cool vintagelook.

Strangely enough, he CX500 was my1# choice for this build. Yes, he bike everyone “loves to hate”.

I like the over-all size of these bikes, he electric start, like that they are liquid cooled, he shape of their gas tanks, nd I prefer the modular wheels (on this style bike), ut mostly…. I like the “high tech” look of that V twin engine.

The Build

First I removed the “ugly” and then fabricated a fully adjustable rear mono shock system. A “track inspired” tail section was hand formed out of heavy gauge sheet metal. The tank was tilted forward, pproximately, 0 degrees to clean up the lines on the bike.

Pod filters, into 1 exhaust system, ed tail light, lectric fan and new battery, ew vintage tires, nbsp;plus a few other custom touches were added. The body was then sent out and painted Guards red with silver and gold stripes.

This bike turned out just how I wanted…. light weight, imble, asy to ride, definitely” racy looking and with a vintage flair.

The actual mileage is on this bike is unknown, here were no gauges when the bike was purchased. The bike has had a jet kit installed, nd now starts right up and runs fine, nd goes through all the gears and brakes fine. There are no major oil leaks or blue smoke. ( Please note; the headers were "blue" when I bought them used.) The bike has a clear Arizona title. VIN- PC012017662 Remember....LOW RESERVE
