selling both Ducatis. not really looking to split up the pair. Basically. I no longer ride. and they just take up space in the garage. These are the last 2 of the 5 I have owned. 996s: bought on ebay from a buyer back in 2003; rode occasionally. However. it has been garaged most of the past 10 years. It was not put up correctly. so now the fuel system is clogged/gummed up. I spent about $1500 in Atlanta in 2012 to get it fixed up. but after running a few months. I decided it no longer worked right for me (I guess as I got older. by back has decided that the 996 is not the bike for me). Here is what I know if either wrong or not stock: Previous buyer switched over to custom single seat and painted a darker shade of red. It really pops. but has some scratches He also polished the rims and had the frame anodized gold. when polished it looks sharp. He said he added new pistons and cams (which I cannot verify. but it does seem to run at a higher pressure more aggressive timing). He added the power commander to control the fuel system. Has an oil leak. probably due to seals being dried out. but I am no sure. Battery is dead. needs a new one. Fuel will need to be removed and the system cleaned. It would probably start with a new battery. but I am not willing to dump another $90 into this machine. Sold as is. where it sits. 900ss: This is the 2nd 900SS i have owned. and I rode this bike (and the 900ss/sp the most). A friend. but in 2005 dropped the bike while attempting to turn around in the street. I had 3 other bikes so I have never fixed it up. I managed to track down a true ducati fairing and some of the parts. but I just don't have the time to finish the project. What is wrong: fairing damaged. needs the upgraded clutch master cylinder. battery dead. fuel is old (and I am sure the carbs need a complete cleaning). rear brake broken (I have that part). Sold as is. where it is. If you are a Ducati guy. and need 2 great winter projects. these are perfect. If you are looking to ride these bikes home. don't even bid.
