Ducati 900ss Supersport 1994 Carbed Model Baines Racing Tuned MOT and TAX
This auction is for a very well loved and much cherished Ducati 900ss Supersport carbed model from 1994.
The bike has had one owner and was registered on 1st April 1994.
It has tax and MOT. The tax expires end of July 2015 and the MOT mid August 2015.
It has a little over 21. 00 miles on the clock and has been added to and lovingly maintained throughout it?s life.
In 1999 the bike suffered a low speed drop whilst on an advance riding course and subsequently it was sent to Baines Racing for rebuild and tuning work.
At the time the bike was being rebuild by Baines Racing the engine had done 17. 01 miles. and new cylinder studs were used.
The engine number and frame numbers are original and can be authenticated with Ducati. (a question when previously listed)
The Bike has an extensive spec list with many now unobtainable parts on it.
The Wheels were refurbished in 2011 by Mike barnby Engineering in Rochester. http://www. mb-racingwheels. com
The were hand sprayed rather than powder coated in a Vintage Ferrari Formula One Campagnolo gold.
The have cracked the paintwork as a result. but in truth perhaps a powder coat may be in order and more durable in the long term.
For someone who is looking to do this level of work to a stock SS this is a bargain. and more importantly much of what?s on the bike is unobtainable now ( seat unit. wheels. exhaust system and rear sets)
A stock well looked after SS goes for around 3 to 3. 5 mark. so for what you?re getting the extra grand and a half really isn?t a lot- especially as you?ll probably spend that in toys anyway!
This was listed once before but I took it down as it was so close to tax and MOT time. Also I wanted to photograph the inside of the fairings so that the new owner would get the full detail of what they were buying.
The Belts were replaced in 2013 annd will need renewing in August of 2015. The most recent service also comprised the steering head bearings. the original ones having survived from new. The suspension was also set up by FCL Motorcycles. Cranleigh at the same time.
The modifications are as follow:

All the bits and peices I have left
A full tank of fuel!
The bik?s paintwork has recently been machine cut and polished.
The bike was Dyno Run at the following :
Max Power : 79. 17bhp @ 7801rpm
Max Torque: 61. 83 ft/lb @ 6040rpm
However the power graph shows more importantly just how linear the curve is.
What I don?t have:
the original exhausts or the carbs. twin seat plastics or the dual seat unit.
The Bad bits:
There is engine paint stripped on the area under the clutch slave cylinder as shown in one of the pictures. however this was wire brushed off and there is no other flaking paint on the engine.
The fairing underneath the same area (obsucred by side stand) has blistered paint which is due to the clutch slave leaking. again not see when on the bike but photographed for completeness.
A small dent often seen on early ducati?s that hav had a fall to the left hand side of the tank made by the switch gear. - picture below - about 15mm across and 3-4 mm deep
The damage to the inside of the fairings shown in the photos was the original repair by Baines Racing.
I have included the pictures below for convenience and so the buyer is under no illusion as to what they?re getting.
This is a very unique bike and the cost of putting the standard parts like carbs and pipes on will be way cheaper than going the other way and tuning and sourcing these special parts. This is a bargain if you total up all the work done on it and therefore the money you will save.
No reasonable offer refused.
