Gas Gas TXT 249 250 cc Trials Bike 2000 model. Ready to ride or for project.

Gas Gas TXT 249 (249cc) Trails bike. 2 stroke petrol. kick start.  Larger pics - http://imgur. com/a/M1LpN#0To view largest size click the settings icon (top right of image) and "view full resolution".  Good points - Starts. usually 1st or 2nd kick.  Solid frame. suspension and bodywork.  Ready to ride or could be made better as a project bike.  New Choke mechanism fitted September 2014.  Good chain. sprockets and tyres.  Chrome frame and tank. eye catching bike.  No leaks or smoke etc.  New wheel bearings fitted.  Bad points - Fan stopped working via the thermostat. Fitted external battery with external switch - works for short runs (9V) - needs a 12V battery really. easy job for the right buyer.  Loom has been cut (then repaired) to find a 12V feed (without success!). All back together but i like to be honest.  Not the smoothest engine - it's not brand new so don't expect it to be. it's average for a bike that's been ragged about. hence no reserve. Come see the bike.  Gearbox oil does the common strawberry milkshake thing - small water leak - doesn't matter and easy fix/parts.  Other stuff - I have replaced the rear brake pedal with a Yamaha R1 peg - easier to use.  Replaced the kill switch with a standard switch - works fully.  Summary - It's a working 250cc bike. suitable for ragging about for not a lot of money. It's a bit scruffy and could be treated to some TLC and new parts to make it much better.  It might misbehave - it's an old 2 stroke bike. so don't expect perfection. I have had to play with it from time to time to keep enjoying. you will have to too. if you have no mechanical experience prob best buying a new bike that will not have hissy fits for a few years! You WILL have to drain the carb sometimes. you WILL have to fettle themixture and balance the choke sometimes. It's all part of the fun.  Selling as i realised having a seat (pit bike) is actually more suited to my kind of riding! (Talentless).  If poss come see the bike - we'll go out in the back field and you can play around - Until the 9V battery fails to spin the fan enough. ha.
