Rare Classic - 1981 Harley Sportster Limited Edition (#283 of 1000)

Up for bids is a rare 1981 Harley Davidson Sportster Limited Edition. 1981 was a special year for Harley Davidson as they had just recently taken back sole ownership from AMF; and as such several special edition models were produced this year. From a Sportster perspective there were two built in 1981 that I know of. the Milwaukee Edition. and the Limited Edition. both hosting special paint work and graphics. The Sportster offered in this auction is #283 of 1000 of the Limited Editions. It is in Turn Key condition. and overall in very good to excellent condition. There is some chrome pitting going on. most notably on the side covers of the motor. buy as you can see from the photos it is still very presentable. Things like paint. graphics. tires. seat. basically the rest of the bike. is in excellent condition. The motor was rebuilt about 7000 miles ago by a local Harley Davidson dealership (Doc’s) – runs excellent. no leaks.
