This bike was a labor of love for me and took me two years to complete between 2007 and 2009. However I'm on to a new project (1966 Chevelle restoration) and need cash so it's time to let the bike go. The bike is what some enthusiasts refer to as a "shovel-bob" or a bobber style bike powered by a Harley Davidson Shovelhead engine. This bike is low and loud - a bone shaker (rigid rear end) and an absolute blast to cruise around on. In my opinion its the perfect pairing of vintage look with modern touches. I don't know where else you will find an old school SU carburator sitting next to LED rear indicator lights. Along with the bike I will give the buyer the option to purchase my bike trailer for an additional $400 on top of the auction price. I will also give the buyer any/all parts and fluids that I have remaining that are related to the bike.I first purchased the 2006 rolling thunder frame and married it to a 1980 Shovelhead that a gentleman had taken out of his 1980 Harley Davidson Sturgis motorcycle. I purchased the motor in 2007 and still have the bill of sale but we did not denote at point of sale the approximate mileage on the engine. I can tell you that between 2007 and 2016 there hasn't been more than 600 miles put on this motor. However this the reason that the bike is listed with "mileage unknown." Other than the carburetor all of the other parts were purchased new between 2007-2009. The frame is slightly stretched but nothing to make it look too wild. Currently the bike is set up for someone approximately 6' but this could always be modified by moving the forward controls backward. The DNA springer front end is a new part that incorporates more of that vintage look and is 2" shorter than standard. This gives the bike more of that lowered stance.THE BADIn the spirit of being 100% up front with whomever ends up purchasing the bike I want to describe any/all defects in this section. Since I built this bike and am not a licensed and insured custom shop I want to recommend that the buyer go through all bolts screws and fasteners to ensure that they are tightened to specification. The rear brake (right foot control) is not functioning properly due to a pressure issue. It provides braking power when you put your foot down quickly but loses braking power if you push it slowly. There is a small section of paint that has bubbled up on the gas tank (see photo). This is due to the fact that a special layer of primer was required to get the paint to adhere to the nylon gas tank and the painter missed a spot with the primer. The bubbling is NOT expanding and has been stagnant for the past 4-5 years. It just doesn't bother me enough to get it fixed. The Harley drag pipes are perfectly functional however they are partially heat wrapped because they had some rust. I decided to cover the rust with heat wrap instead of buying new. Some surface rust has also started to form on the sprocket of the primary drive unit (see photo). It will not affect functionality at all but may bother some people in regards to visual aesthetic. The license plate bracket is made of soft metal and has gotten somewhat worn down by the axle spacers. The contact point between the license bracket and the frame is also padded with velcro (non visible point). I would recommend a new bracket new axle space to fill the void and remove velcro from frame. The Harley hand grips are very usable but are getting slightly worn and may need to be replaced in the next few years. The 2" under front end gives the bike a very low/mean look but it also takes away from turning ability. When turning sharply you can potentially drag the kickstand on the left or forward controls on the right. I would suggest the new owner possibly putting on a standard length front end. Lastly the paint is not perfect and I don't want any potential buyer to expect that. I would rate the paint a 7/10 overall - please expect some imperfections.THE GOODNobody else is going to have a bike like this one - it's one of a kind. You get a super high-end Rolling Thunder frame that would cost you a couple grand to buy new and the glorious sound of a Harley Engine. This bike turns heads wherever it goes and people love and respect the sound look and originality of the Shovelhead engine in this setup. The bike is low and FAST. Open up the throttle on this bad boy with 1340cc's of unbridled power and you will be put into the back of your seat. It's the perfect combination of style power and vintage appeal. While the list above may look daunting to some NOTHING NEEDS TO BE FIXED RIGHT AWAY. While I would definitely recommend a once over to look for loose bolts (this is a seasonal job on hardtail bikes) you will be able to ride this thing the day you take it home.
