Description

HARLEY 1974 FLH ALL ORIGINAL NOT RESTORED Very Very Good To Excellent Condition for 41 years old --- All Original --- Not Restored --- Engine runs smooth --- Transmission shifts smooth --- No Leaks This is an all original unrestored 1974 H.D. FLH Electra Glide with the original Sunburst Blue color paint original everything except for items that wear out. Even still has the original FLH 1200 decal under the tail light. 57780 miles this averages to 1400 miles per year. This motorcycle was driven maintained cleaned and polished every year except 2012 and 2013 when the last (3rd) owner got sick at 73 years old. He owned this bike for 25 years. I am the 4th owner of this 1974 FLH and I am 68 years old. I also have a fully restored 1982 FLH. The previous owner added and accumulated the extras that are on the bike and come with the bike. The list follows: 1 - H.D. eagle on the front fender with light up eyes. 2 - The backrest on the H.D. pogo post buddy seat is after market 3 - H.D. extra tail an brake lights. 4 - H.D. gas cap covers with railing 5 - H.D. foot boards with railing 6 - Original gas tank emblems were replaced with H.D. new old stock emblems a few years ago because one of the originals got a ding ( the removed emblems are included). 7 - H.D. optional oil cooler 8 - H.D. left side and right side chrome side covers no brackets. The last owner could not find them. I just set them in place for the photos. 9 - H.D. extra pogo post springs. 10 -H.D. frame mounted seat back rest hand rail and 2nd luggage rack for mounting the frame mounted seat. 11 - H.D. 1973 accessory catalogH.D. magazine ad for 1974 FLH models and a original 1974 owners manual. Since I have owned this 1974 FLH I have only done maintenance and got it a current Pennsylvania motorcycle inspection. What I have done is the following: 1 - There was slight rust in the gas tank so I had a radiator shop clean and seal them. 2 - Replaced the petcock and fuel line. 3 - Installed another Bendix carburetor. 4 - Ail filter element. 5 - Points and condenser. 6 - Spark plugs and plug wires. 7 - Ignition coil. 8 - Front disc brake pads. 9 - Engine oil and filter change. 10 - Transmission gear lube change. 11 - Front fork oil changed. 12 - New foam rubber seals on saddle bag lids and tour pak lid. By the way the saddle bags Tour pak and fairing are original white gel coat not painted. All are in excellent condition inside and out. No cracks scrapes or scratches. Only a few small nicks. All the items I have replaced I kept and go with the motorcycle. The tires were replaced some time ago and are in excellent condition. No cracking or dry rot. The front tire is a Goodyear Speed Grip blackwall size MT90-16. The rear tire is a H.D.S. Classic whitewall size MT90-16. It has the same tread as the front Goodyear Speed Grip. Items of wear or damage: 1 - All the paint is original and in great condition. But there are some small rust spots showing through on the gas tank see photos. 2 - On the left side gas tank the decal is stained from a over full gas tank seeping on the decal. 3 - The front crash bar has a small scrape in the chrome. 4 - The chrome battery cover under the positive post is a battery acid stain. 5 - The left side exhaust pipe heat shield shows wear from the passenger putting there left foot on it. 6 - On the extra H.D. frame mounted seat the back rest pad is cracked where it mounts and was glued. It is hard to see when it is mounted. 7 - On the H.D. frame mounted seat hand rail where it mounts to the 2nd luggage rack there is a small (about 1 inch) rust spot. THIS 1974 FLH ELECTRA GLIDE IS ORIGINAL NOT RESTORED EXCEPT FOR WEAR ITEMS. THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS --- NO LEAKS --- THE ENGINE RUNS SMOOTH AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS SMOOTHLY. The only reason I placed wood under the kickstand in some photos was to make the bike stand up more. This way I would not have to lay on the ground to take some of the left side photos. This motorcycle is located 65 miles north of PhiladelphiaPa. and 125 miles south of New York City NY. It is located in zip code 18069
