1947 Harley Davidson WL45

1947 Harley-Davidson WL45. This is an Arizona motorcycle that according to the widow of the original owner was ordered in November of 1946 and then delivered in January of 1947. The owner did not like the 1947 style dash and tanks, o he opted for the 1946 style tanks and dash. This motorcycle had a sidecar when it was delivered and to this day still has the working reverse gear but thesidecar was discarded long ago and is not included in this auction. The motorcycle was restored back in 1984, nd from my understanding had some motor work done to it and while in the process of restoration the owner died. I purchased the running/driving bike in 2012 and finished the restoration the same year. The motorcycle has matching belly numbers, lear Arizonatitle and runs and drives wonderfully. The wiring is still6voltand some of the recent repairs I have done are new clutch, rakes, oker tires, ebuilt original Linkert Carb and installed a windscreen and new Corbin seat. The Speedo is non original and the Speedo gear broke this past summer, o the Speedo does not work. This bike is a looker and turns heads everywhere she goes. There are some repop and aftermarket parts on the bike (like the saddlebags, indscreen, peedo, ires and I'm sure some other parts as well) but for the most part this is a very period correct motorcycle. I ride this bike every weekendand she is very reliable, asy to kick.

For those who have asked about the title. Yes, he title is clear Arizona Harley-Davidson 1947 with matching case number on the title. The belly numbers also match as shown in the photos.

The canvas windscreen lower is an original piece to the time period, owever itwas shortened to fitthe windscreen and it can be removed. The siren or "growler" is fully functional, riven by a heel peg and linkage.
