1968 Harley Davidson Sportster - XLH - electric start only - garage fresh

I've had this bike for over 25 years. Got it in the late 1980s. Pretty much the way it is now except I put the saddlebags and saddlebag brackets on it and put the correct Tillotson carburetor and air cleaner on it. I probably only put about 500 miles on it the entire time I had it. The speedometer was still working when I quit riding it about 7 (maybe 8) years ago. I've started it since, ut not lately and the battery is dead. It will need a new battery and the carb rebuilt and will more than likely that will be it to get it running again. I'm done riding.
Rare as it's a 1968 XLH, lectric start only and only about 1100 XLHs were made that year. 2nd year of electric start for Sportsters and the only year before AMF that had electric start only, o kicker, eriod. Most of these were chopped or wrecked over the years, ery hard to find them now like this. Was hard finding it over 25 years ago.
I think it is the original miles on it too. I always thought it had extra chrome placed on it, ut I was shown an article from 1968 that you could order the extra chrome on the cam cover, rimary cover, tc that this bike has. So maybe it's chrome is original from Harley, really don't know. The chrome is in pretty good shape too.
Pretty sure paint is not original, ut it is the paint that was on it when I got it, gain in the late 80s. The black paint on the engine cases was typical of this bike too. I'd think it was original paint except the black stripe on the gas tank is not a wrinkle paint finish and I think all 68 sportsters had wrinkle paint on that stripe. But again, am not certain of that.
I doubt seriously that the engine was ever out of the frame on this one. I do not think it ever had a top end job either as - again - I think the 11,601 miles are original.

As is, here is, lease ask any and all questions before bidding. I have a clear Florida title for it in my name. Numbers are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!!! Can send extra pictures if requested. I did not even clean the dirt off this bike. It has a layer of dust 7 years old, ut was partially under a blanket in my garage. Will clean up very nice and make a nice bike for someone.
