1982 Harley Ironhead Custom Build

If you're looking for a ride that will set you apart and stand out in the crowd, ou've found it! In a sea of black bikes, his is a head turner.You're looking at a 1000cc (61in) custom 1982 Ironhead Sporty...NOT AMF! The engine and frame are really the only remnants of a Sportster on this one. I get a lot of compliments and eyes on this bike! All of the work on this build was done over the course of several months in 2007. The top end was rebuilt. Runs an S&S Super B carb with the K&N lifetime filter. New electrical including lights, iring and late modelhandlebar controls. Wheels, ires and wheel bearings replaced. HD Dunlap 130 tires. Custom paint: it is Candy Red laid upon Pearl White, ooks great in the sun at different angles! Rear shocks. The fiberglass fenders are "Bear Claw Draggers", nd they sit nice and low, nd hookaround the tires. Custom Spiked handlebars are also painted candy red to match. There is no speedo for a clean look, did however leave the wiring in place within the fork housing for future use if desired. The brake pads and rotors were replaced during the build. The bike is fitted with a Hydra-Glide front end for a nice "fat" look. Foot controls and rear master cylinder have been moved to the forward position, nd are from Custom Chrome. It has loud straight pipes that sound great! License plate holder is is a curved side mount with a cat eye brake light. There is a minor leak from the bottom of the primary when she gets hot...it IS a Harley! Should beas simple as a new gasket, idn't bother me enough to go after it. Battery was replaced in 2013 and is currently ona tender. You'll notice the last image is the only blemish on the new paint job. It is located in the small space behind the front fork, nd is not easily seen.

My father and I put a lot of work into this bike, t was a cool and fun project. I've started a family and just don't get to ride any more.
